I'm watching the History Channel and they have a documentary about cookies, Jimmy Carter's favorite cookie was Oatmeal Raisin. What is the favorite cookie of all you NS'rs?

Mine.. I'd have to say Oreo (especially double stuffed) and Thin Mints.

The Poll has a list of common cookie types on it but please feel free to make your own suggestions?

Oreos all the way... definitely!!! Or Triple Chocolate.

Triple Chocolate cookies are Chocolate Dough, plus dark chocolate chips and white chocolate chips are great-what if they added M&Ms/Smarties!!!! ALLELUIA!!!!!

I like cookies a lot.

Voted for Oreos. I don't like those wafer-things though, they seem to emblem America's fast-food movement for same taste, faster to eat, faster to carry around. The classics you have to appreciate SLOWLY.

As do I...

Well, I do have a special place in my heart for oreos, but this morning I just want to vomit, and Oreos would make me want to vomit more than any of the other cookies.

So, I voted chocolate chip.

A cookie, as its called in the West, is a sweet 'biscuit'.

Thank you SaintB, and as this is a fun topic I don't want to bring the party down but don't you just mean North America not the west, I am pretty sure the British call them biscuits too.

Is Oatmeal sweet? Never had one before, at least I don't think so we call it porridge when it is cooked up, well maybe I have as I think I have had biscuits with oats in them but that would be ANZAC biscuits so i think it may be different.

When I said "west" I meant North America...

Oatmeal in its normal form is not at all sweet, however its really easy to sweeten. Oatmeal cookies are mildly sweet.

oh you are missing a very nice treat. oatmeal cookies with raisins (home made from scratch right out of the oven) are yummy.

they are made with about half oatmeal/half white flour, butter, (probably brown) sugar, salt, baking soda and an egg.

First off, pieces of crap like Oreos don't even belong on a cookie list.

Secondly, all cookies should be home made.

Thirdly, mint chocolate chip.

Okay, after I calmed down from trying to steal all of the cookies, I determined my favorite is chocolate chip, but I will always have a soft spot for the Caramel Delites Girl Scout Cookies.

I couldn't possibly pick one favorite, but some of my assorted favorites include:

Homemade:
- Triple chocolate caramel chunk cookies
- Plain ol' chocolate chip cookies
- Snickerdoodles
- Gingersnaps

(All of the above should be chewy but still slightly crunchy.)

Bought:
- Caramel Delites/Samoas
- Thin Mints/Grasshoppers
- Raspberry Pims
- Walker's strawberries 'n' cream shortbread cookies
- Those ginger cookies with lemon creme filling (can't remember who makes 'em, but they're yummy)

...I'm so hungry now.

Where's the other option?

I prefer the gluten free kind, thank you.

Although, I really miss ANZAC cookies, and gluten free jam drops and melting moments are never really as good. I also miss Tim-Tams.

round here "cookies (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cookie)" are typically the chocolate chip type, and everything else is a kind of biscuit (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biscuit#Biscuits_in_British_usage). but as it happens choc chip cookies are my favourite anyway :)

I have coeliac disease, so cookies are a no-go unless I cook them myself with a myriad of flours. The easiest thing is making no-bakes with ELISA-tested oats.

Oreos suck. Give me a good home made peanut butter or oatmeal raisin cookie. I find the problem with making peanut butter cookies is that peanut butter is a bit inconsistent from one batch to the next, so the recipe has to be changed slightly every time.

Plus it's kind of cool to hold a lump of peanut flavored dough the size of a bowling ball.
