Apparently SOMEBODY within EA or Bioware got the message through that the pitchfork wielding mob was about the reach the proverbial castle gate just in time for the mad doctor to flush his frankenfish down the toilet.
Now lets watch as the EA execs all stand around and say, "Monstrous sin against humanity? Where?"
For those too lazy to read, EA was planning on forcing online re-authentication of Spore and Mass Effect every ten days, along with 'all future releases'. Naturally many people promptly blew a gasket.
Just remember, if you dont get what you want, get a bunch of friends together and bitch long and hard until something changes.
Of course, this all assumes it wasnt a publicity stunt designed to garner attention and a ton of free marketing.
