A local council employee in Japan has been punished after it was discovered he had accessed porn websites at work more than 780,000 times in nine months.

His habit reached its peak last July when he surfed for porn more than 177,000 times during office hours.

That works out at almost 10,000 pages a day, or more than 20 each minute he was sat at his desk.

Crickey... I'm would have thought he'd be pretty sore by now.

Have you ever looked at porn at work?

20 pages of porn a minute?! WTF, was he actually looking at it or just clicking as many links as possible?

I suppose you've got to admire his consistency. Having a porn-tastic day is one thing, but to keep up the rate for nine months is quite something.

I am sure most cases of repetetive strain injury and carpal tunnel syndrome in the office can be explained by this.

Maybe he just really wanted to get RSI.

I mean, using a mouse that much would be bad for the wrists, right?

It is rather impressive.

I'm more surprised that it took nine months for his PC to get a virus.

Have you ever looked at porn at work?

Not intentionally. :p

Well... Japanese worker efficiency, maybe? I mean, they ARE said to be quite focused at what they do.

Including this.

Pornography's an addictive industry. I can't say I'm ever surprised when I hear events of this nature where the appreciation of such an industry's products is in a massive excess.

Stupid people do stupid things.

Stupid people fueled by desire do stupid things in excess.

That's generally how it goes down.

I don't work for that company anymore, so it's kind of irrelevant.

Well, unless he really wasn't sure what went where and had to continue his research, I'm guessing that looking wasn't all he did.

I'm not too sure about this story...

near as dammit one thousand browser sessions being opened during the day...roughly one every what...5 seconds...how do they get closed? Surely the repeated and monotonous click click click of him closing windows every five seconds most have driven someone nuts????

nah..not sure about this story....sorry!
