What kind of Chair do you prefer?

I like computer chairs.

They combine two of my favorite things, arm rests and wheels. They're simple, reliable and its always fun to roll around and do spins in them. They are not very ascetically pleasing and its almost impossible to nap in them, but by golly I just think they're great.

I like springy chairs that can swivel, recline, adjust in hight and angles and wheel around.

but they cannot have arm-rests.

there are times where I like to sit cross-legged on the chair and arm-rests get in the way.

Computer chairs rule. I can nap in mine because it can recline. But I have also learned that I can fall asleep in the world's most uncomfortable stool.

Does such a chair exist? Truly, it would be the lord of all chairs.

A stable chair with a firm back and open sides (ie, no arm rests), so that someone can sit in it cross legged, side saddle, with their legs pulled up into their chest, or in whatever weird position they fidget into, without being afraid that the whole thing is going to break or topple over.
The sort of chair that can serve just as well as a foot stool, end table, step-ladder, or device for popping one's back.

Leather reclining chair. Preferably not on wheels, nor as heavy as a La-Z-Boy

For relaxing, Adirondack chair. I have a real big one by my bedroom window.

For work, basic task chair with as little "ergonomics" as possible.

Mid-back, cloth chair, with rollers, swivel, recline, and arm rests works for me.

My favorite chair is definitely the folding dish chair that I have in my room. Too bad I'm not sitting in it ...
It looks like this (http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/602-4432055-1716642?ASIN=B000BMBU9W&AFID=Froogle&LNM=B000BMBU9W|Airmesh_Dish_Chair__Black&ci_src=14110944&ci_sku=B000BMBU9W&ref=tgt_adv_XSG10001), except mine is much bigger.

I don't care as long as my ass is comfortable on it.

I have a papasan. I loves it. I've had it since 1986, but I've had to replace the pad on it twice.

I also had one of these in the 80's, I wish I still did, it was soooo comfy.

simple plastic chair is nice (not the shitty garden furniture) because its cheap, easy to store and my arse seems to prefer it over comfy seats

though if sofas count I have this loveseat that faces into my garden (through a window) and I can just sit there and day dream though I suppose couches a different because its less of a sit more stretch out and lay

SNIP

but its looks so...strange, surely your feet must take a dislike?

I don't remember much, other than feeling very content sitting in that chair and doing my homework. I hated my homework. Sitting in that chair made me happy and feel calm, so I got my homework done quickly.

Woman here in the office has one of those, or rather had. Odd thing.

As for my chair preference I want something tall enough for my legs to be comfortable, wide enough I can sit cross legged in it if I like. Solidly built, reclining would be nice, though I dislike chairs that you can lean back in and the whole thing tilts.

I prefer my 21st Century Scientifici Bounder wheelchair http://www.wheelchairs.com/. It will run ALL your woosey little desk chairs into the ground. In addition, at 10mph, I am never late for a meeting, and can generally exit before anyone has a chance to object. Also, the alternative is wallowing around on the floor. That makes for a really LONG day.

I don't have any of these devices at the moment. I gave them all away to 'chair-ity'.

I'm going to claim that had to be done, but it really didn't:p

... I'm sitting on it now at work. it doesn't recline to a full layout position, but I can (and have) sleep on it.

and yes, I'm now sitting crosslegged on it.

I sat in that once... and yes, it was comfortable. So comfortable, I forgot it had NO BACKREST and leaned back. :(
