IT is just a curious thing. Because of Kosovo recently declaring itself independent, thoughts on what that might do to fervor Quebec independence movemtns in Canada?

Or in the rest of the world. I guess ETA will do something again, because of this.:(

nothing because they are completely unrelated? I mean its been months now and all this foaming Putin was doing about it encouraging independence movements (he seems convinced that some sort of war is going on in Scotland) hasn't materialized

not to say that Kosovo hasn't ruled itself for years anyway

Maybe he visited Glasgow

woe to any man who visits it's outer suburbs and run down tower blocks.
while i'm on the topic, does anyone think tower blocks were ever a good idea?

Nope, they never were a good idea.

If you mean skyscraper projects, then no.

It could mean that when parts of countries eventually want independence, that Russia may support them. Not so important now, but it may be in 30 years as Scotland, Quebec, and soon Texas and California will all be vastly different than the rest of their countries.

Let's hope their thoughts go to doing a better job than Kosovo...

Kosovo is a special case. Has Quebec ever/recently been victim of war and genocide by Canadian forces ? Nope. In the case of independence for Quebec, Kosovo isn't a really good argument.

By the way, isn't there already some kind of autonomy for Quebec ?

Nothing. If Quebec ever actually separated from Canada they'd have to stop kvetching about it, and no one there really wants that.

As far as I'm aware they were a fucking disaster in every country that put them up....destroyed long established communities...used as a dumping ground for "problem" families....It was only in relatively recent years here that residents have started taking control of them...around the same time somebody had the idea to get rid of them, thus potentially destroying now established communities....

Unlike the people of Kosovo, the people of Quebec aren't killed, starved and otherwise treated like second class citizens in their own land. Canadians might want to, but they don't. ;)
