LAKE WORTH, Fla. - A Florida teenager is facing a charge of elder abuse after he allegedly made his senile grandmother wear a black mask and hold a handgun for a video.

Police in Lake Worth, Fla., say the 85-year-old woman is seen and heard on the video threatening to shoot "all the pigs."

Authorities say 18-year-old Michael Alfinez was arrested Monday and charged with abusing an elderly person, discharging a firearm in public and improper exhibition of a dangerous weapon.

Palm Beach County sheriff's detectives seized the video during a traffic stop in January.

The teen's mother says it's all just a misunderstanding


Elder abuse is a bit of a strech on this case don't you think.

Well my grandma has been known to be a bit violent.....

I want to know what business the sheriff has looking at a video from a traffic stop? Did he expect to find evidence of the suspect not wearing his seatbelt on it or something? Sounds like the evidence could possibly be labeled as inadmissable anyway. And have any of you ever actually tried caring for a senile person? Its very draining and after answering the same question for 3 or 4 straight hours every single night , day in day out for months or years on end, doing silly things keeps you from going insane yourself. Not saying its right, but the charges are absurd. I mean it would be different if they wernt feeding her or giving her her medications etc, but elderly abuse? I dont think so.
