Not only that, they came up with the idea of the torch relay from Olympia to the hosts.

A better one would have been "would we have allowed Soviet Russia to host the Olympics" Since from my limited knowledge of the Olympics, I think we boycotted that one.

The German torch relay was the first torch relay held, if I recall correctly.

I hope this is not representative of the quality of the US public education system. I know it's bad, but this bad?

It was and according to the IOC website, Germany finished first in the medal count that year.

We boycotted the 1980 Moscow games due to the invasion of Afghanistan. Funny thing was so did China.

I suspect it's more representative of the LA rent-a-mob. The ones that go to every protest just to protest.

Realize these are hippies they are just that drugged up. I was explaining to my Chinese teacher(from China) that no one here takes them seriously and they protest everything. (left out most Americans do favor free Tibet).

It is likely the same guy protesting Iraq war with a sign saying Bush = Hitler.
