He's rustling papers so it looks like he's doing something. Meanwhile kids are being shoved into more crowded classrooms with fewer resources, and all of us fresh out of school who were told about how much California needed teachers are wondering if we're going to get to eat this fall.

The lame duck is desperately attempting to get a legacy that won't be spelled I-R-A-Q.

You could try Las Vegas, if you're breathing and have a teaching degree/license they usually come after you with a net.

I am glad that A) I'm graduating this year, and B) I'm not a teacher at a public school.

NCLB is a joke that forces teachers to teach what's on a test and leaves little room for other more logical education. I remember hearing students ask the teacher about why we learning this and that, and the reply always being "Because it's on the PSSA's."

I've mentioned this once before, but when I think of Bush's 'No Child Left Behind', I imagine the scene from the movie, 'Soldier' when the kids are running in formation and one is straggling behind the formation. A humvee pulls up next to the winded kid and a man with a gun gets out. *BLAM!* No child left behind. :p

The standardized graduation statistics seems like a good idea, though it doesn't exactly make up for the abysmal failure that NCLB is.

Ye Gods. I need bleach for my brain.

Back on topic... no child left behind? Yep, shoot the little buggers at the back. Works for McKinsey & Co.
