Has anyone seen this movie? And if so, may I ask, is it satire?

No I have not and no it's not.

I foresee yet another Evolution vs Intelligent Design debate.

I know a kid that got expelled, and i can expell volumnious volumes of gas, does that help at all?

PS. Are you telling me that with the ability to do millions of calculations a second at your fingertips that you couldnt have Googled this info rather easily?

I hope it's satire, because I don't want to spend an hour and a half staring awkwardly at a movie screen, too embarrassed to get up and leave.

It's not satire. How could anyone even think it's satire?

Because they retain a sliver of hope for humanity?

I haven't even heard of it.

I wiki'ed it, looks like a complete right-wing circlejerk, I lost interest.

Just because it isn't satire doens't mean you can't laugh in the movie theatre. :)

Sorry - the expressed hope does not fit reality. Bad reality. BAD !

I used to respect Ben Stein. I thought he was a pretty swell guy.

How disappointing.

I wish it was satire...
The main problem with this movie is that because of the wide spread scientific illiteracy many people will actually buy into this movie, in spite of the fact that an overwhelming amount of the reviews have been negative. Even FOX (http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,348468,00.html#2) gave this film a negative review

Check out Expelled Exposed (http://www.expelledexposed.com/)

Also watch this one (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ThQQuHtzHM), which definitely IS satire :)

Shows far more courage to accept something even when you don't like it. It takes an inferior person to engage in such ridiculous wishful thinking. Anyone who holds 'faith' as a virtue is not someone you want to be taking orders from.

Before he got that amusing image on Ferris Bueller's Day Off Ben Stein was Nixon's speechwriter. It wasn't as if he suddenly pulled a 180 shift from a swell guy into a Fundie Psychopath.

But remember, always link to Expelled Exposed under the name Expelled (http://www.expelledexposed.com/) to boost it's Google ranking. To avoid confusion you can write it as 'Expelled (http://www.expelledexposed.com/) Exposed'.

won't that trigger some kind of google bomb warning, unboosting it's google ranking?

Thank you. Last time I suggested that course of action, I was pilloried. I find it hard to understand that someone ON a computer CONNECTED to the Internet can't take 10 seconds to do exactly that. It means they're going to take the word of those who post here instead of looking it up themselves. Yikes.

The film is not satire, but I will indeed be laughing.

I don't think so, because it's not common enough to unseat expelledthemovie.com from it's prime position, but I'm no expert on Google...

It doesn't seem that necessary though, it's already the 4th result for a search for expelled in google.be. The first two are the real sites, the third is wikipedia.

MST3K it, seems to be the appropriate course of action, even if you're too full of yourself to not be capable of it.

Now if there was ever a film (besides perhaps Sunshine, The Core, or The Day After Tomorrow) that might lure Joel Hodgson and the MST3K crew back into action, Expelled would be it. *crosses fingers*

It seems to move around quite a bit (on google.com), although it appears to be permanently on the front page now.

Edit: currently 5th on .ca, and 8th on .com, behind PZ's blog
