The rubber band.
Vocalist - Bruce Dickinson

Damn, you beat me to it. I was going to answer that way.
I however would probably have removed Janick, as he is not associated with the "traditional" band (Im avoiding saying the name so you can still punch them;)). I have no real poblems with Janick however. And hes funny live cause he dances a little jig in a corner the whole time.

Rhythm Guitar/Vocals/Frontman - Bob Mould
Lead Guitar - Jason Becker (yes, I know he's got ALS, but this is total fantasy, and as such, I'm allowed this one)
Backing Guitar/Second Lead - Alex Lifeson
Tirtiary Lead - Steve Vai
Bass/Vocals/Keys - Geddy Lee
Percussion - Neil Peart
Whether or not this band would actually have any chemistry is a good question, but they're all like-minded people who have an uncanny ear for music... As well as uncanny musical abilities. And some say that four guitars might be a bit much, but think of the compositional possibilities.

Steve Harris. But dont do it just because I said it.
People thinking Fieldy is good is just a pet peeve of mine. Seriously, the man just down tunes beyond reason and slaps his strings. Its really not that difficult. Sure, sometimes it produces an...erm...interesting? sound, but that doesnt make it talented. You could learn to do it by buying a $100 Bass, tuning it down until the strings are nearly falling off, and practicing for a grand total of about an hour.

I don't have any doubt in my mind that he'd be the World's Foremost Guitarist (as Carlos Santana is all too often mislabeled, when guys like Alex Lifeson and Steve Vai are easily a step above). And more of Jason, playing Yngwie Malmsteen's "Black Star", at the tender age of 18 (complete with a mustache and beard!).

Ever heard of Neil Peart? He easily bests Bonham at any aspect of percussion. I'm not saying this to try to be a dick, I'm saying this because it's true. Neil is completely dedicated to the art of percussion, and his skill shows it in spades.
And honestly, Jimmy Page is overrated. He was very loose and sloppy, though I will admit that he was pretty technically proficient. Nevertheless, he's ridiculously overrated, often placed well above guys like Satch and Vai.

I wouldn't go that far. Bonham was defintly the best drummer of all time, but the rest of Led Zeppelin weren't the best. Don't get me wrong, they were great, but they weren't the BEST. I think it should go something like this:
Singer: Geddy Lee
Bassist: John Deacon

Guitarist: Slash

I won't argue one bit with Rush owning them, but while I'd like to argue that an aspect of Zep wasn't overrated (songwriting), that's nigh impossible, since they've been bloated beyond the bounds of what we know as "proportion" by the media and idiots who like to jump on the bandwagon.
I love Zep. But Rush are vastly superior in so many ways (technicality, instrumentation, lyrics, stage presence...).

Neil's better. More precise, faster, more intricate, has more stamina, and writes more interesting parts. He also plays percussion melodically, something Bonham didn't do.

well actually the wouldn't all be playing at the same time. differnt permutations on different cuts, and maybe different names for the different combinations.
for existing bands prime time sublime was my first thought for a kind of joke entry, yes they really do exist, sort of, look them up and listen, if you can, to a day in the life of a micro organism.
er, a, well ok. getting real, i do like tangarene dream, paul and elanor (and 'the little band'), mckutchen of course, lorina mccennit, and so on, steel eye span, well i'm an old guy so i'm not always keeping up on what's current. numina though, oh and baka beyond, and imigrant soul, aeterna, just about everyone on synth music direct, e.l.o., r.m.i., objects in the mirror, iris d'ment, blue turtle seduction, cosmic wobble, gemini wolf, s.h.i.n.t.o., and naturally a bunch of stuff from back in the 70s.
i'm not that much into guitar players or guitar as such sounds. nor vocals all that much usually either, unless the're balads about something more interesting then the usual human soap opera, or protest songs, some of those sorts of things. mostly i like instrumentals, electronic and acoustical, but of unusual combinations of instruments, that when i close my eyes listening to them, i'm transported to the kind of strainge alien worlds i'd rather be living in.
one thing if i was putting togather a band, would be no guitars other then string base, no saxiphones and no snare drums, but quite possibly two or more, certainly at least one, keyboard synthasist. french horn, base clarenet, snareless tympany. also some sort of flute or other reed/wind.
and the style would definately be alternative bordering on experimental and even experimantal classic including micro-tonal and some of those ancient greek modal 'keys'. with perhapse very gentle hints of progressive jazz fussion.
congas, bongos, and concert tympany for polyrythm and sometimes just for grins, that giant easter europe somewhere, well its kind of a reed, with a rigid fipple, i forget what the darn thing is called at the moment, looks a little bit like a basson for the jolly green giant or something.
tubular belles too.
i really don't know who i'd pick to play each of those different things, other then some of those i've mentioned.
there's a lot of musicians who do things i like on bowed strings, but i'm just not into the weight of overwhelming string sections that seem to have dominated so called classical music, for, in my opinion, far too long.
hammerd dulcimers are interesting for the string side. they go good with flutes, and lighter, airier accoustic sounds.
