Japanese translation for something...

It's a stupid request, yes, and I don't even know if it's feasible. However, could any of you Japanese-savvy people out there translate the speech that begins at about the 13th second of this video?

Edit:Here's another URL, same scene, maybe better sound.

I couldn´t hear anything distinctive. Sorry I cannot be of any help.

Yeah, it's also somewhat hard. I'll understand if I come out of this empty-handed, but I'll try, if only because the curiosity has been eating away at me for a while now. ;)

(It's from 13 to the end, mind you.)

There´s a possibility that it´s English with a Japanese accent which is pretty hard to understand. I´ll try once again. If not, try asking Distallia. He might be able to help you better than me. I´m still getting used to Japanese phonetics.

Or NERVUN... (He is the other one in Japan, yes?)

Given that the character is Irish, it's a possibility.

And a scary one at that, because we might see a Japanese person speaking English while trying to emulate an Irish accent to it. Which would be VERY hard to understand.

Yes, but I used him for so many translations that I'm letting this one out in the open so as not to tax too much on the poor guy. ;)

Quite scary. My otakuness with Gackt Camui led me to check several of his commercials and I found one that made me very afraid of English speaking Japanese people. It´s an Upty commercial released in Europe for a credit card company. They had to put subs in order for people to follow the dialogue.

*Looks at location* Yup, pretty sure I live in Japan. :p

I'm at work right now, Heikoku, so I can't play any videos, but if Distallia doesn't snag it ahead of time, I'll giver 'er a whack when I make it home, assuming my son hasn't eaten my computer yet.

Thanks. Mind you, no need to strain yourself too much if it seems, y'know, impossible to hear with the bad sound. ;)

Edit: Added a second link with better sound.

I'd give 'er a go, if I could hear it... (no speakers...)

Nah, I'm quite sure we live in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

That's "Daistallia2104" as pronounced by a Japanese person emulating an Irish accent.

I'd agree if Koizumi and his personality (and hair) cult were still around running the place, but seeing how Fukuda seems to be going after both Abe and Mori's record for most disliked prime minister*... :p

*Japanese political joke, don't worry if you don't get it.

Sorry Heikoku, I can't pick up what he's saying. I found some educated guesses on various Japanese sites, but I wouldn't be willing to risk giving you a translation without knowing that is really what he's saying.

Daijoobu desu. (sp; I meant to say it's all right)

Are those guesses on what he's saying or on the accent, or what? Because if they're on what he's saying, I may just be able to deduce it via Babelfish and context.

Anyways, thanks for the help. ^_^

Gomen asai, I keep forgetting that 'a' on your name. Ha!, I'm gonna start calling you Daistarria-sama (as pronounced by the Japanese) to see if I can memorize the nickname.:p

It sounds to me like he's saying "Cumin" or Ku-mihn, depending on how you want to spell it phonetically.

Were you talking about just the Super-Cancel word, or the stuff he says after Dreamcancel?
Kyronea
17-04-2008, 15:10
Okay, after Dream Cancel, this is what I hear(Note: I don't speak Japanese, so this is all phonetic, in the hopes Dai or Nervy can make sense of it):

Kusitay ani-yay

Kani(Possibly Kami)-Tendo suhnjiyo.

Yeah, that's all the stuff I could make out.

He's tossing cards, huh? Looked like he was stabbing him to me...I wouldn't know since I don't play fighting games anyway.

Well, cards, yes. The move is named "Joker". The character is somewhat centered around cards. (This is a 53 hit combo his move plus 52 cards, and another move caps at 21 hits, for you blackjack players out there.) ;)

Also, I rephrase: Right when he grabs the opponent by the face...
