I like her voice, and her music, so I was wondering if anyone here would know of any other singers like her I might like.

I guess you can ask for you own recommendations, too.

Go.

Is that a band or a single person? Their name intrigues me. Do they have a cd out?

I was just listening to some Shirley Bassey and thought, wow, that voice, almost like an American Edith Piaf. :) Me am big Edith Piaf fan, too.

The style.

I kinda feel silly listening to French music because I don't know what she's saying.

Why feel silly? Good music is all about the sound, with or without words. I like opera, but I can't understand those languages, either. I listen to the sound of it. I can always check the translated words in the libretto if I feel like it.

Learning the words phonetically with no comprehension = hit albums for ABBA. Go for it. ;)

Meh, she's good, but I wouldn't say that she really could get me to sing along.

When I was younger, one of mom's cats was named "Edie" after her. I had never heard of Edith Piaf back then, so the only thing that came to mind was that the cat was named Idi after Idi Amin. @_@

Obviously, mom explained the truth very quickly.
