I'm a pretty big fan of following American football (not playing though, International football is def more fun there) and was recently referred to a pretty interesting mmorpg where you create a player, sign on with a team, and sim through games and seasons. Hey, it's no NS, but for you football fanatics out there, I think you'll like it :)
It's still in beta, but it looks like the staff there is working their tails off to improve it. We'll see. If you like (american) football a lot, you'll probably enjoy this; otherwise, you probably won't.

On the fair side, the referrer only gets points if you actually end up playing the game for a few days. Better than some other mmorpg's models, but alas, wish they'd do away with that system. But yea, you don't have to use the referral link.
Not trying to spam (much -_-), just spreading the word for fellow fans of American football, and AFAIK there aren't any other similar games out there. (If there are, tell me...) I know there are at least some American football fans here on NS. If not, ignore :-P
