All I can say is, about bloody time! I have no problem with polygamy, or polyandry, or polyamory, but I have a huge problem with young girls being forced into marriage. These people are sick, and I'm not sure there's enough therapy in the world for most of them.

1) I think I understand marriage - I've been in a highly successful and monogamous one for nearly seven years now.

I'm not really a fanatic about much of anything. Freedom, maybe, or good Chinese food. I'm not advocating anyone get involved in any kind of relationship or marriage, that's their choice. I'm just advocating that they be allowed to make that choice in peace.

The Old Testament verses show that polygamy is allowed under Biblical Law, the New Testament verse shows that though two people entering into marriage become one flesh that it is possible to add to the union, further as Jesus refers to the Old Testament for justification, it highlights that laws were not overturned.

Anyway, as to polygamy. There huge difference between what the FLDS guys practice and what other polygamists practice. I have two close freinds who are involved in a very loving polygamist "marriage"* and neither of them were forced into it. They, both women, share one man they consider their husband (Yes, we tease him), they share everything, they are fine with it. I know them both and I know they decided to do it independently*. It amazes me how they keep it working, but they do, in fact they have a little one on the way now. I dare say that even though technicly illegal anyway, they are far and away different from the pedophile pricks of the FLDS.

* It came about as one of them married their love, the guy, and they started as a monogamous marriage. The other freind joined them well into their marriage, and while she is not legally married to either of them, they consier it among themselves as marriage, just without the legal stuff.

Actually Austin is much more interesting than Houston. Although I am from the Houston area, I lived most of my life just north of Austin.

i know this has nothing to do with the topic but, the us is behind in commercial digital technology, in japan Internet connections go up to 100megabit, while as far as i know the us only goes up to 10, its not because the us does not have the resources to do it, its just those money grabbing internet providers that refuse to give the public the latest and best that can be made... hardware as far as i know also goes to the Japanese commercially that is, i don't know how it is in the governmental domains and private industries.
