Metropolis Part 2 (Dream Theater) was totally ruined for me when I realised how sad it actually is.

Motion City Soundtrack - Commit This to Memory because it reminds me of a girl. Bullshit, in my opinion.

Most Disney songs, all of Stars' Set Yourself on Fire, and the Moulin Rouge soundtrack. Brings back bad memories of a relationship thankfully long past.

EDIT: Thankfully, I have moved away from that sort of music naturally anyway, so I don't miss it too much.

Lola. It wasn't till I sat down and listened to the lyrics that I realised what it was about.

Pretty much whenever an older song is mixed so it resembles some sort of well the only way to describe it is crap. U heard one today it took Diamonds are Forever by Shirley Basset and mixed it with some modern R'n'B music I was appalled.

Madonna nearly wrecked American Pie with her travesty of a recording, there are just some songs that should never be allowed to be remade and that is one of them.

Except when I last read the "Songs/Albums that have been ruined for you." thread I was actually listening to Dream theater... Creepy hey?

Really? I never liked this song until my English was good enough to understand what it was about... ever since then I think it's great.

... Not really.

And what pissed me off is that by association, Metropolis Part 1 is ruined too!

Fair enough. I actually have more Dream Theater than anything else, because I usually just have individual songs, but you can't really do that with DT.

Oh don't get me wrong I still listen to the song and first time I realised what it was about I laughed, but it was not what I thought it was and that is why I was schoked to hear it and it did change the song for me

Vienna by Ultravox was never quite the same after I accidently imagined it to be sung by Rigsby from Rising Damp to his cat. Never been able to forget the horror...

Most Rammstein songs were never the same after I learned what the lyrics actually meant... Mein teil, for example, used to me one of my favourites...

I actually liked them MORE after I read the lyrics.

I actually used to like "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" and "Wake Me Up When September Ends" by Green Day. But then the radio and everyone around me who had a set of speakers played them to death.

So now I skip over those two tracks whenever I listen to American Idiot. They've been ruined by the incessant play that they received.

That, I think, ended my foray in the realm of popular music. Grindcore and black metal all the way!

Samba Pa Ti by Santana. Bloody M&S.

Most tracks that I once liked but then became to popular. Or tracks that are cool at the beginning but get played each party and then become boring.

I prefer Weird Al's version, "Yoda".

Also, this (http://youtube.com/watch?v=oHg5SJYRHA0) song has been ruined for many, I'm sure.

Basket Case (and the album, Dookie) by continuous play on MTV, Kerrang etc, but mostly by an acquaintance of mine, upon hearing it come on the radio, say "Oh, is this McFly?"

It certainly has been ruined for me. Specially because Someone here, which I don't remember:(, has been using it on the forum.

I haven't been able to listen to Magnetic Fields or Of Montreal (I have most of the discography of both somehow) since an epic break-up. Thankfully, those weren't exactly some of my favorite bands.

For a while, I couldn't listen to ska or Irish music because of a breakup, but I got over that fast.

If I'm in a particularly frustrated mood, I can't listen to Marquee Moon (Television) because I'm still annoyed with the guy I got it from. He managed to be a royal ass to me not too long ago.

"Interview With the Vampire"'s soundtrack was ruined for me after watching the film. Of course, that was my own fault because I had read the book first and the movie falls short.

I'm really surprised it wasn't put up sooner, or that no one actually sees it coming. At the very least you should always be weary when I post something that seems to be legitimate.

Also, Nanatsu, nice work in the siggy, there.

It's okay, I'm paying the misery forward. I'm going to Rick Roll all my youtube subscribers.
