For all you who don't keep up with Pharyngula… (http://scienceblogs.com/pharyngula/)

An amateur Péléontologist claims to have discovered a mass grave the of sea-dragons which once roamed the coasts of Utah. He discovered the fossils while digging basements… in dirt.

Here is his website (http://www.hszoria.com/Home/tabid/118/language/en-US/Default.aspx), and a video (http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-5557196047504057900&hl=en) he made.

This whole business reminds me of the pattern-recognition phenomenon (whatever it might be called): when you've already decided what you want to see, you can see it almost anywhere. In backwards lyrics (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_is_dead), for instance.

And his video is worse than a student Powerpoint. :D

Ripple effect was making me ill...

Perhaps when a non-hobby paleontologist takes a look at this...the video didn't call it a dragon, at least not to the point where I quit...

I find it funny that the article linked to another called "Somewhere a palaeontologist is crying".

It's pretty close to April fool's day. Anyway a sea dragon is just a big snake, right? That's not really evidence for dragons the way they have been described in mythology.

Those notes remind me of that movie where some family in Scotland had Nessie in their backyard (or "backcave"?) and the mother fell in love with a scientist who very nearly broke the news...only for him to show kiddie drawings at the press conference. The only difference here is that there's no "real" dragon- there's just the kiddie drawings.

(by the way, has anyone actually watched the whole video? It's 35 minutes long...)

A few pickles over his hamburger, surely?

Hamburgers were not meant for pickles. Eugh.

Oh, now you've got this whole thing against nuts, eh? Nice.

You know, pistachios and their ilk do so much and ask for so little in return...

You wouldn't say that if you had just run your lawnmower over the bloody macadamias on my lawn and wrecked the engine/almost killed someone with flying macadamias...

Or if you were one of those poor buggers who is allergic!

Declare war on nuts! (and crazy dragon hunters)
