Which massive race?

Neo Azeroth

This is simple, which of the massive race is better (or worse) in your opinion?

The Zerg from Starcraft, the Undead Scourge from Warcraft III, the Borg from Star Trek, the Flood from Halo, the Daleks and the Cybermen from Doctor Who, or any other massive race on the same theme. Notice that all of them basically take other races into themselves and add to themselves.

The zergs single mind and thoughtless devotion to the "greater" cause gives them the edge IMHO

Either Borgs or Daleks.

The Borgs are a conglomeration of everyone they come into contact with and absorb all that into the single mind.

The Daleks on the other hand have just been engineered to hate and destroy all life that isn't Dalek.

If the Borg ran into the Daleks they would assimilate all that hate into what they already are and they would conquer the Daleks. jmo :p

Maybe it means it's worse for you if they are better at conquering and assimilating you.

As well, the Daleks are capable of inter-dimenosal travel, time travel, and can assemble a fleet of ten million ships full of little Daleks saying, EXTERMINATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've never heard of a Borg rush, so I'll go with the Zerg. Glory to the Overmind! Also, I love their appearance more than any of the others, and this is coming from a robot fan.(None of the choices are actually fully robotic)

The Cybermen might be fully robotic except for the biological brain in their skulls. That being said they are just heavily cyberized (to borrow a term from Ghost in the Shell).

The Borg could rush since they have numbers, they'd just need a lot of ships to do it with.

Got to be the Flood. When you first fight the flood all you have is one gun and the "floodlings" will call 'em are pretty much falling over themselves in a mass rush to get you. Not to mention the huge flood who get close then explode tiny flood all over you.

So many of my friends are massively into Doctor Who and it kinda puts me off.

I feel like it's a little bit overhyped.

Although when I watch an episode it is very good, but, I dunno, it doesn't really motivate me to watch it.

Ah but the Borgs have superior knowledge as they have already absorbed all the others, with the Daleks being the last massive race to be defeated! They assimilated them before the Daleks could even formulate the thought "EXTERMINATE". The Borgs then mind controlled the Daleks to exterminate themselves. The Borgs just passed the popcorn and watched. :p

Its got to be the flood. They have the unimind of the Borg, the strength and viciousness of the zerg and most importantly, the ability to infect members of other races to become flood. Borg, Dalek, Zerg and the Undead are all potential flood. For every soldier the enemy loses, the flood gains strength. They can also adapt and use enemy weapons and technology, something the zerg can't.

The Zerg can be creative, something the Borg lacks. The Borg take others ideas and technologies and make it their own, but I have never seen the Borg take initative or come up with their own unique ideas (besides the Borg Queen but thats a different story). The Zerg can evolve new organisms before the need arises, unlike the Borg, who adapt as the event or situation happens.

In addition, machines or cyborgs are suspectible to EMP shockwaves, whereas fully biological lifeforms don't. Well, to be fair, if the EMP was huge or intense enough then brain and nerve impulses may be effected.

However, machines can be repaired much more easily than biological lifeforms (losing limbs or appendages for example). Machines can also easily add onto themselves, like new limbs, technology, tools, etc.

--------------------------------

Match-up's in my opinion:

Borg: They have time travel (Star Trek: First Contact) and inter-dimensional travel (invading Species 8472's fluid universe). They also occupy millions of worlds, not necessarily Earth type worlds. They have reactionary evolution, making themselves very resistant or immune to a weapon or technology after several uses. The Borg can also grow its population rapidly through asslimation of their defeated foes. They are also capable of self-reproduction (implied by baby Borg's in a couple of Star Trek episodes).

Daleks: They have time travel, good armor that resists weapons in the year 200,000 (except Doctor Who's TARDIS), can travel to parallel universes, and mutually destroyed a powerful time civilization (Timelords). If we remove the Dalek's armor, they are just a weak tentacled being. Besides we can't forget the whole stairs thing with the Daleks.

Cybermen: Similiar to Daleks, but less protection. Unlike the Daleks, the Cybermen can easily grow their population, and aren't inherently weak as the tentacled Daleks. The Daleks can still move around and such in their tentacled state seperate from their Dalek suits, whereas the Cybermen's brains cannot be seperated from their bodies (as far as I know). So for all intents and purposes, the Cybermen's brains aren't counted.

Flood: Dunno about them, haven't played Halo.

Zerg: Huge numbers, quick reproduction, and biological evolution. They grow everything, even their structures and ships. The Zerg can infest humans to make human-Zerg hybrids, similiar to the Borg's assilimation. I haven't seen a Zerg-Protoss hybrid so I'm not sure if the Zerg hybridization can work on other species besides humans.

Tyranids and others: Dunno much about them either.

Aye, aye, the Zerg are lovely... until you NEED MORE OVERSEERS, which is sad times o' clock.

Nah, in the first Episode they featured in, they were shown having their own babies. It wasn't until later that the assimilation element was introduced.

I frickin' hate the Flood. I know they are rip off of several other Science Fictions, but geez thier everywhere. They are just so sneaky too; unlike the Zerg, Borg, Cybermen, Daleks, and undead which are fairly easy to spot.
