I outsourced my life to some guy in India. For only $10 a week, he rock climbs, has learned a foreign language, and is a good neighbor and son. Well, on the one hand, I'm alive. I think. I'm capable of breathing, talking, and moving, and my body functions relatively normally.
On the other hand, I have no friends, don't watch movies or TV, read few books, don't have many interests, rarely travel, don't play games, and lack motivation to the degree that as yet I've made no effort to change any of those. In addition, I tend to function poorly in the workplace and experience long periods of reduced or nonexistent sex drive.
I must therefore conclude that the question as to whether I have a "life" really depends on your definition thereof.

It depends what the OP means, if he means "have a life" in the sense of being cool then it's a qualified 'no'. If he means "do you like your life?" then it's a qualified 'yes'.

Well, if Phil McGraw believes "a life" is one that features a girlfriend and/or regular sex he's pretty well deluded...not that he isn't anyway but that's still a very narrow view of what a "life" is.
I wouldn't exactly have what many would conventionally call "a life" (I live in a small town- there's nothing for me to "get out" to do, but I do get out from time to time nonetheless) but I still enjoy it and that's the main part. As far as I'm concerned, as long as you're doing *something* with your existence (I am going back to school in September) and you're enjoying your existence, things like social status really mean nothing.

Despite extreme sleep deprivation and probably a degree of emotional problems lately, both caused by school.. yeah, I have one and it doesn't suck.

Such are nerds - except those who are unfortunate enough to be burdened with a genuine need for a social life and of relationships. If you don't desire it, you don't miss it - such are all pleasures. (in return, to me gaining any knowledge and awareness of interest feels good)

I guess you could say I have a life. Many people wouldn't consider what I do "a life", and I don't have any relationships with anyone, but yes, I have a life, and I enjoy living it. There's a long, 3-month story behind my current state of being, but long story short, I was developing a theory about the nature of the universe, which dealt with randomness that was controlled by a single sentient being in each universe (I could go into depth about the theory, but I'd rather not), and it almost killed me. As soon as I "realized" that I could control the probabilities of certain events happening, I started to think about things I normally wouldn't think about, murder, theft, breaking into Fort Knox, you name it. And then I realized that because I'm the only sentient being, the one who's subconscious mind controls everything, I am the cause of everyone's death, everyone's suffering. And my mind was assaulted by a moral decision, let go of them, they don't matter, they're not real, or face the consequences of your actions. I prayed, and my prayers were answered. And now I enjoy life to the fullest. I do computer programming, that's my thing, but I also enjoy classical music and renaissance-era art. I still enjoy theoretical physics, math, and geology. And yes, I enjoy playing video games, even though I don't have many and the ones I do have are old (like Need For Speed II ;)). And now I need to get another cup of coffee. Goodbye.

As for myself, hmmmm sort of, it's hard to explain without giving a proper definition of life, some could be;
"I go out with my mates all the time, i want to have a better life"
"I create plans to take over the world, one day.."
"I have kids thus i have no time for myself"
"I care for everyone i can, thus i have no time for myself"
"I study alot, thus have little time for a life".
In all of these definitions they have the assumption that life is something great and amazing to have, to be free, i doubt in reality this is what a "real" life is.
If anything it's the most common lifestyle of every person on this planet, and as that could involve anything i think it's fair to say anything you do, say or think contributes to your idea of life, no matter how depressing, lively or innovative everything you do is life, therefore everyone has a life, whether they have their ideal of life is well an ideal, i'm sure everyone has thier own ideal of what they could be, everyone. so there's little point in despairing when there's nothing to despair about.

If you control it it's not really random, is it? Aside from that, it explains quite a few things, like why I run out of cereal every morning.
To answer The Question, I was breathing yesterday so by most standards I am fairly alive. It might not be a very cool life in the rule-the-world-way you guys might think of it, but whenever I might start having that feeling of worthless life, I go on Wikipedia and read about the tons of people who got hanged, drawn and quartered, sawed, impaled, burned, flayed, roasted or boiled alive (for shitty reasons too), I think if these great many people would have enjoyed my life as an alternative and start feeling better about it.

That may be, but we all know that happiness cannot actually be obtained in New Jersey. Anyone who enters knows only sadness and despair. Hey, if I sob some (which I do most days) would Dyakovo comfort me too?
Yup, his fluffy and cuddly and will comfort you.
 Now how in heck did I came up with that?!
Well, you´re Teh Ebil anyway. But, contrary to the others, I do know where to find you:D, DYAKOVOCHU!!

Don't worry, no need to apologise (i'm pretty confused why you did).
I find music helps if i'm bored or whatever. I like guitars (http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=QjA5faZF1A8).
yes millions of guitars in the wind, all playing their strange melodies.
Remember if the potatoe gets you down, try some rice or noodles...i mean what?
Gods, confusing!! You, MHiJ, give me back my sanity!!:headbang:
Oooh, guitars. I like them too. Pretty sounds.:p
Potatoes... rice.... noodle... Mmmmm, I´m hungry.

i see, so i'm in a pokeball which is in a pokeball which you have. or do you mean you own a pokeball which has the flu monster and Dyakovo has the flu monster, so therefore you have me to?
i see but i think this is getting off track, i think it's important to remember that everyone has a life, including me. because life is what you live.

You can get to Bern, Switerland by boat? ;)
It's got river, you can get there by boat.
http://www.berninfo.com/en/maps.cfm
Where you can get there *from* is another question, and this depends on your boat and your canal building capabilities.
No, because it's getting warm enough to golf again.
