What do you drive?

Steel Butterfly

I drive a 2000 Audi A6 and I picked up a 1999 Mercedes-Benz C230 for only $3000 so I "drive" that as well, although I'm looking to sell it. What about the NationStates community? What do you drive?

I'm drivin' a truck
Drivin' a big ol' truck
Pedal to the metal, hope I don't run out of luck
Rollin' down the highway until the break of dawn
Drivin' a truck with my high heels on

My diesel rig is northward bound
It's time to put that hammer down
Just watchin' as the miles go flyin' by
I'm ridin' twenty tons of steel
But it's sure hard to hold the wheel
While I'm waiting for my nails to dry

Oh, I always gotta check my lipstick in that rear view mirror
And my pink angora sweater fits so tight
I'm jammin' gears and haulin' freight
Well, I sure hope my seams are straight
Lord, don't let my mascara run tonight

Because I'm drivin' a truck
Drivin' a big ol' truck
Smokey's on my tail and my accelerator's stuck
Got these eighteen wheels-a-rollin' until the break of dawn
Drivin' a truck with my high heels on

Oh, I don't mind when my crotchless panties creep right up on me
And my nipple rings don't bother me too much
But when I hit those big speed bumps
My darling little rhinestone pumps
Keep slippin' off the mother-lovin' clutch

But still I'm drivin' a truck
Drivin' a big ol' truck
Headin' down the interstate, just tryin' to make a buck
Wearin' feather boas with sequins and chiffon
While I'm drivin' a truck with my high heels on

I'm drivin' a truck
Drivin' a truck
Got a load to carry and some eyebrows left to pluck
And I'm late for my appointment down at my hair salon
So I'll be drivin' a truck with my high heels on
:)

the keyboard of this computer, and several miniature railways.

i MIGHT someday get myself another vehicule, preferably a small van of some kind, long enough to lay down and streatch out full length in the back and go to sleep in, but i'm rather hesitant to do so, as they all sooner or later get to be a major pain in the back side either to maintain or even, in the part of the world where i live, to get rid of.

the inconvenience of not having one, has yet to exceed the hassle of doing so for me, living where i am, at the present time.

i would much prefer an adiquacy of public transportation sufficient to replace any need, use or bennifit of them entirely.

awww, but that second car dos look like an improvement if you want four people to fit in, however i recall some fun times fitting into a car slightly smaller than that (corsa something) with four other folks, it was interesting, as soon as the car got to 70MPH that was it, there's no breaking the speed limit in that thing, it started to shake if it got to 75MPH.:D

a beat up little old datsun pickup of 60s or 70s vintage, or chevy or g.m.c. of 50s, or any of the first few years crop of minivans might be ok. but i don't, as already noted, currently possess, nor greatly desire to, any.

yah, a little old datsun pickup, pulling a teardrop trailer. something like that. or a forest green 53 chevy pickup with one of those origeonal unpainted aluminum tops for the back. with that 235 och inline six. i think i've had two or three different chevy light trucks with that. it was my favorite at the time. don't know if you can even get parts for em any more.

meh. i like electrics with onboard solar charging. preferably though running on rails rather then pavement, and smallest possible form factor too.

what i would give to live in a world without all the damd cars and pavement.

and if it isn't something i can go boonie crashing with, i can see no reason to prefer it over an adiquacy of public, preferably guideway based and NONcombustion propelled, transportation.

First car: '77 Ford LTD. That car rocked. More of a First On Race Day than Fix Or Repair Daily. I averaged about 16 MPG, but that car could go anywhere in any weather. Anyone who tells you a RWD can't drive in the snow and ice is full of it.

Current car: old base model Dodge Neon, good fuel economy, decent get-up-and-go. Only issue I've had is the peeling paint that's a problem on so many mid-90's cars. AC compressor's dead, but I have a shorter belt that bypasses the AC system. Fuel economy and performance bonus! I've hit 40 MPG, though my average is more like 33. Damn lead foot!

I used to drive something much less boring (http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/bb115/nipeng_bucket/saab1.jpg) before I got married. It was totally stable at speeds beyond 180 km/h (112 mph) and looked pristinely when it was 15 years old... I loved it.

I love it, and not just because it's the first car I've ever had that was made in the same decade in which I'm driving it. I love the seats, the short-throw, dash-mounted stickshift, the tight turning radius, the 30mpg at 80mph (which is a huge plus in the Dakotas), the pick-up off the line and sweet quiet of the interior.

Got delivered last thursday.

I might be receiving a speeding ticket soon, went to Germany to have a go on the Autobahn, but i think i kept the pedal down till past the no-speed limit area :P

90% of the time i cycle around though, and i take the bus to work. its nice to look at the people stuck in gridlock while i zoom past.

And what is it that you do for a living?

I drive a PT Cruiser, aka the PT Loser or the box on wheels. I want a Geo Metro; eventually I'd like to have a Prius. Better for the environment and better mileage. My car drinks gas like it's going out of style.

I can't drive cars, I don't really care about them. Bikes, buses and my friends cars are enough.

I don't drive. Not learning. I hate to think what's going to happen in America when people realise how much petrol actually costs. :p

A Pagani Zonda C12 F (http://www.automotoportal.com/photos/Top_10_most_expensive_cars_in_the_world/11).

Of course that's just a stock photo, mine is tricked out with paint which renders the vehicle invisible and silenced mufflers with a sound absorbing interior to make the car impossible to hear.

I have a cherry red Mazda RX-8 with the pilot 1/2 reverse back doors black leather interior with heated seats moon roof and a kick ass Bose sound system.. drinks premium gas like a fraterniy guy drinks cheap beer and gets like 16 mpg but it runs on a rotary engine so gets almost 240 hp on a tiny 1.3L engine and the whole engine has like 3 moving parts so it in theory lasts forever. Its sooooooo fun to drive. I dont dare drive past 100mph anywhere around where i live cause there can always be a cop pretty much anywhere so ive yet to even test 6th gear. It red zones at 9-10k so its a real fast reving car and soooo fun to drive.

I have no idea what that is, but it sounds like some sexy thing you would find at a saloon in the Wild West.

It is a British-hosted board... :p

At one point the region now known as the United States of America was hosted by the British. We can all see how that turned out.
