What do you make of this? There are several references and I have checked a couple. The Wikipedia article seems pretty solid.
Personally, I like it. I don't believe a word of it, but I like it. It paints a much more benign picture of God than mainstream christianity. There's one part where it describes the central 'divine' universe as being surrounded by dark gravity bodies and a 'relatively quiet midspace zone' and I thought of the big hole is space: http://www.space.com/scienceastronomy/070823_huge_hole.html and I snickered a bit.
Also, I can't be certain, but it doesn't seem to make any particular religion or faith a prerequisite to achieving immortality in the afterlife. How do they expect to become the crutch by which millions of turn to to tell them how to think, how to vote or who to kill? No wonder it's such a little known faith. :p

So... you like it because it's vague?
I think that's what modern society needs. Slight confusion.

As opposed to the mass of stupidity that is its norm.

I am christian. I see some things I agree with but a lot of things I think are just flat out lies or Sci-fi stuff. So I went with the nuggets fo truth one.

I read only a small portion before relizing the complete evil in this theology, if it can be called that. I'm sure that the Gods have been angered and have sent the reich minister of indoctrination to sacrifice to slaves and present a virgine of one of the highest families to me in order that all evils may be diverted for this divine country.

Certainly odd. It kind of reminds me of the arguments the Gnostics presented about the nature of God, his Son and doctrine between the IV and VI centuries AD.

The intelligence of any group of people is inversely proportional to the number of people in the group, and at 6+ billion people in the world, that number is getting very small indeed.

Although the ideology is OK, the writing style is so unbearably tedious, like the Book of Mormon on steroids.
not something i've ever been able to make heads nor tails of its incohierent mumbojumbo.
and yes, i have seen, and TRIED to read some of it. not the wiki about it, but the damd thing itself.
i suppose its no more harmful then western montheism or the principia discordia, but i really can't judge even that. pretty monotonous and unrewarding slogging as far as i got in it. and that long enough ago for me to have forgotten even that.
(which i consider probably fortunate)

oh interesting, but i found a problem with this bit.
God in The Urantia Book is the creator and upholder of all reality — an omniscient, omnipresent, omnipotent, infinite and eternal spirit personality.
omniscient- how can you have a smell that is all present, no one smells that bad.
omnipresent- oh yeah an infinite supply of presents? well i don't see any new presents for me at the moment.
omnipotent- an all present potion? i mean what? there's no way that a potion can be all presnt, it would break in those lava volcanoes.
infinite-an industrial company (http://ccne.mofcom.gov.cn/1091280)? i mean that's sooo bourgeoisie.
eternal-how can you spin non stop? e-turnal?
spirit personality-oh this ones quite reasonable, makes sense i'm sure God must get really drunk from those spirits, imagine the parties eh?
{on a seperate note i had a wierd dream, where i was commanding an army against some chaos evil one, i got wooped the first time, the second time i managed to pull off a draw, there were tanks and helicopters and everything, it was great entertainment}
