i like a lot of the older stuff better. Thrash metal doom metal and power metal are pretty good. not the biggest fan of black metal/death metal.

Doom and Thrash Metal are good but I'm a bigger fan of Black and Death Metal myself ;)

I know this goes against the genres i listed above but My favorite metal band is deconformity. they are blackened death metal band who i doubt anyone has heard of unless they are near boston massachusetts. i went to high school with the lead guitarist.

Personally, I'm a fan of O-1 tool steel. Granted, unlike stainless steel, it can rust relatively easily if you're not paying attention, but it's a pretty decent metal if kept oiled.

I like pretty much all genres except a lot of nu metal. I also dislike most gore metal, but that's not a genre as much as it is shitty lyric writing.
