I have to say this. Why are people on here posting just to post. With no insight, or logic, or anything whats so ever, I think the mods should make it that you can only post a max 30 posts per day because having 20,000 posts on a forum little know about is really sad.. No offense to the people that have 20000+. But come on stoping posting for the love of posting all the time.

Just because you got nothing insightful to say doesn't mean that we need to impose limits on those who do.

I hope you'll hold yourself to a 30 posts per day rule; that way this discussion will end all the sooner :)

i used to get really involved in debates, which is how i got most of my posts... maybe a little spam/fun too ;)

I have plenty to say, and I was merely pointing out the flaw in your argument. Your argument holds no water because some people make multiple postings because they have something to say, and even if you don't think it adds anything, they do and there is no reason to limit them.

Also, my post count may look high but I've been here since September of 2003.

Sorry if I attended you, but this doesn't appeal to everyone of course, but only some of them.

Why does it upset you so much that there are so many posts? Do you really think that your interest in reading through the threads more quickly outweighs the interest of the dozens of other users to have a little fun? Lots of people do contribute to these debates 90% of the time, and if they want to toss in a joke or two, what's the harm?

practically speaking the NS mods have no control over how the forum is run. they would have to personally monitor everyones post rate each day to make sure that you arent being annoyed by over-posting.

this is an impractical suggestion, eh?

Wow, only 30 posts per day! My average daily post count is 4.28, not all of them are brilliant, insightful, logical or even relevant. Think what I could do if I posted 30 a day.

I'm terribly sorry if irrelevant and irreverent posts bother you, but most of the fun of the forum is making and reading those posts. And nothing amuses me more than a good threadjacking (unless, of course, I originated the thread). I'm afraid that your suggestion is impractical and may even be impossible.

That's like saying the government should limit people to 8,000 words a day. Some people talk more than others. Most people don't make insightful remarks in the majority of their talking. Sometimes it's nice to chat about something entirely pointless and irrelevant to 'the big life problems' that you might deem more important.

So, to sum up, stop complaining and get over it.

Oh, and there is a posting limit. IIRC, you are limited to 2880 posts per day (one every 30 seconds). ;)

Just imagine how crappy your posts would be if you had to make 30 a day (on average)...

I tend to go in spurts (and even then I am usuall below the 10/day mark). Don't forget that most posts are generally small and usually contribute a posters opinion.

A forum is not only an intellectual but also a social place. This is why I am against it.
