Who actually supports Hillary Clinton?!

I just cant wrap my head around how all the new polls are showing Clinton leading over Obama! Perhaps this is just because of the type of people I usually see (teenagers, young adults, my teachers/parents) but I know very few if any people that actually support Hillary Clinton's candidacy. If they do its either because of the fact that she's a woman or because of her tie-in with Bill Clinton (although those are also reasons that some people dont favor her). Anyways, I just cant describe in words how how much Clinton just seems to disturb me. Maybe its the constant fake smiling, or how she wont release all her records as first lady, or how she supported NAFTA, or how she spits out hyprocritical statements left and right. The list goes on...

?

Notice three things: the afro, the basketball, and poor grammar in an in-joke.

What do these apply to?

Black people.

Subconsciously, people are afraid of a black man being in power. Simple.

Does it mean a majority of Hilary voters are racists, consciously or subconsciously? Certainly not. But there is an element in some undecided Democrats that takes a step back.

As far as I know, yes. :D Doesn't Barry Obama have a much nicer ring to it?

Who supports Hillary? About half of Republicans, 'cause they know McCain would cream her in the general election.

I guess im still to naive or optimistic to believe that people could consider race in their choosing a presidential candidate. I come from a very diverse area and it just baffles me.

I admit I haven't been following it as closely as I might, but her cores of support seem to be women, latinos, and the working class in general.

No one has been saying so in exit polls so far, for what that's worth. A couple percent here and there at the most.

It's just very interesting to me that the more intellectual a person is, the more likely they will support Barack Obama. This isnt the rule, but take Vermont for an example. Possibly the smartest state in the US, and they overwhelmingly supported Barack Obama. Im also not saying that woman arent intelligent.. its just (please take this the right way) that some Woman make somewhat rash decisions and might just support Hillary Clinton because they feel as if she represents them. This whole ordeal just sickens me. Hillary Clinton should give up so that Obama can focus on the general election. Clinton CAN NOT win. She is well over 150 delegates behind, there are very few contests left, and she barely has a lead in superdelegates anymore. All this prolonged campaign is doing is giving Mccain a much better chance to win. I assure you my friends, if Mccain is elected, we will go to war with Iran. Thousands of young Americans will die in another pointless war. The world is much to volatile right now to have a violent old man like Mccain as the leader of the (not so much anymore) most powerful country on earth.

...

"Women make rash decisions, men are smarter than them, and only thickie states like Clinton"

*sighs*

Way to make this into a gender issue right there.

Oh, also, we're not going to go into Iran, we'll just let Israel bomb their nuclear reactor and so on and so forth. We don't have the troops for it, and nobody wants it to happen.

On the other hand, having US jets escorting IDF planes would be the kind of thing people would whine about, but overall not care overmuchly about.

She can, given the number of delegates left, the superdelegates and all the floating ones left over from John Edwards etc, it is still very possible.

And since McCain already won his nomination, why waste a vote in the Republican primaries when you can screw the Dems.

Hillary's been doing better in general election matchups lately than Obama has. Conventional wisdom says she'd be easier for McCain to beat but conventional wisdom hasn't gotten anything right this election cycle.

I hope she wins the nomination, because I think the press are going to do everything they can to elect the DNC candidate and I'd much rather have her as President than someone as naive as Obama is.

As opposed to the lowest common denominator who will vote for Obama next to the intellectual elite who admire Hugo Chavez? That's what the black vote is you know, the dumbest demographic in the country. That's the cold hard facts. Look at the test scores for example.

Ghetto trash, MTV brainwashed Paris Hilton admiring types, dumb kids, leftists who want things like slavery reparations, 9/11 conspiracy theorists, people who think Michael Moore speaks the truth or just want to do the trendy thing. That's what Obama is. The frigging American Idol crowd representative.

Meh, we'll all be heading down a bad road with either Obama, Clinton or Mc. Cain. I really hope that this election cycle, people will vote with their heart and not for the "lesser evil." However, I know I'll be disappointed when the results are announced in Nov.

I wouldn't go that far. Sure, the man is an idealog filled with vague platitudes. That doesn't mean that ALL of his support base is filled with dopes, just some of it.

Of course not Kontor. I was responding to the certain examples of people he said would be voting for McCain, when people make such a big deal about the black vote and no one ever says that this the least educated demographic in the country.

Yeah. But what do you expect, he is black and they are black. I've never expected any differently, and my expections have never been wrong.

I supported Edwards, but now I support Clinton along with most people I know. I don't trust Barack Obama to take command of this country and translate his views into real change. I think he is a wonderful orator, but inexperienced politically. I also do not feel he is committed enough to protecting a woman's right to choose or gay rights. I also don't like how people treat Clinton's supporters. We're supposed to be in the same damn party and Obama will need Clinton's supporters if he wants to win in the general election. They're not going to vote for Obama though if they're alienated by his rabid fanclub first. Saying only middle aged women and Republicans support Hillary is not the best of statements in the world. I'm still a liberal, thanks. I'm just happy the Democrats have two great candidates while the Republicans had... whatever you want to call the Republican candidates from this year.

Now, please excuse me as I hide from the horrible rain of shit that is about to come down from the heavens. =P
