Hi im new to this whole Nation States RP thing P.S not sure if this is the right place to post

im interested In rping with nation states ive rp'ed with nation states on another site with friends but i want to get out into the wider world i was wonder how do i get started and what do i do coz im kinda lost

You want to look at these forums (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/forumdisplay.php?f=1220) for role playing. I suggest you read all the stickies in the forum, and then jump in when you're ready. I've no doubt that there will be people there who will help you. :)

Of course, the role players are all a bit dodgy. You could stay here with the Generalites, we're much more fun. ;)

Yup, capitalizations, No smilieys in IC, start some diplomatical relations, and join a region that can help you.

What is new?

Dictionary.com defines new as of recent origin, production, purchase, etc.; having but lately come or been brought into being.

However I assume you are a person of at least a decade old, therefore you are not new, you are old.

The best bet is to start up a embassy thread that will get people looking and seeing you as a nation you should also apply to start up embassy's in other nations as well. Then you could start up an RP such as committing genocide or looking for other RP's where you can enter.

I invited some diplomats to a party once, but they didn't come because I'm a bitter unlikeable loner whose passing shall not be mourned :)

Traditionally, you should open-up with a post about how you hate something, and use a lot of violent smilies.

Aside from humor: The two RP forums are NationStates (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/forumdisplay.php?f=1223) and International Incidents (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/forumdisplay.php?f=1230). Look for a thread that is "open". Then read it, and see if you can fit-in somehow.

Do what you like, as long as it isn't too vulgar.
In General you can say almost anything as long as you can back it up, in those RP forums you could spend days having one conversation.
A good way to annoy folks is say one thing then run away:) Then say the opposite a day later then run away.

You'l probably find alot of Religion, Abortion, human rights threads in General, and a few hypothetical ones. But it's fun to start ones on random stuff.

Check on the United Nations (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/forumdisplay.php?f=1225)section. I'm sure they can help you there.;)

1. Apply to join the UN.
2. Wait until they accep your application or wait until your region reaches the level where the UN will let you join.
3. Even so, go to the link I provided and ask the delegates there what you can do and if there are any guidelines in setting an embassy in your country.

First go to International Incidents

Second, find the New Thread button and click it

Third, enter a title, something like, "Kewen Embassy Thread"

Fourth, come up with an application form which other nations can post, filled out with their details in order to recieve an embassy. It usually includes the address, the # of civillian personnel, the # of guards, the name of the nation, the name of the ambassador, the type and # of weapons and anything else you think is important to know before you allow a nation to establish an embassy in your nation.

Fifth, list the address of the embassies and which country each embassy belongs to. I advise you determine a colour coded system so that one can look at the name of their nation and see by the colour how well relations between you and one's country are going.

Sixth list all the countries you have established and embassy in

Seventh, press the submit new thread button and wait for the page to load

Ah, but what is a decade in the grand scheme of things? Really, a decade isn't even a blink of an eye given the six billion years the planet has been around. So we are all really quite new.

Why choose one forum or the other, I go both ways! Wait, um, I mean I go to both forums! Now, one important thing to mention and remember when RP'ing is tech level:

MT = Today, to approximatly 20 years from now.

PMT = 20 years from now, to maybe 100 years from now.

FT = 100+ years in the future.

Fantasy/PT = Think Tolkein or some other such for this one.

What do you want to be? The tech levels don't interact with one another, but it is possible to be more than one tech at once. The key is to use your imagination and think outside the box, and of course, have fun. However, The phaser guns aren't availible in MT, and don't work right in PMT. Just as well, Modern RL equipment is no more than a mere relic in FT, and outdated in PMT.

As for Fantasy, Magic always rules anytime, so long as the other RP'ers allow magic.

Okay, seriously now: Have you thought about, I dunno, trying to find out things for yourself? there are thousands of threads on these forums EXACTLY the same as yours. If you took 5 minutes out of your time, you could quite possibly work it out for yourself. And save other people the time screwing around.
