To put it clear up, I drove my car up my neighors driveway, and it has studded tires because of the winter, and it left a pretty bad mark on her driveway.

Shes PISSED, and I have no way to pay for the damage, but as far as I know they are legal to have until april 1st, so is there anything she can do about it?

You damaged her property, so yes, I imagine so.

can't you let her drive up your driveway in the same car? to make things equal, maybe.

How bad is the damage exactly?

Tell her that if she arranges the repairs and pays for it you'll reimburse her in regular installments. She doesn't have to accept, of course, but if she sues for the cost of repairs the judge may look upon it kindly that you at least attempted to come to a solution.

If you don't offer and refuse to pay she can sue for the cost of repairs anyway (well, in the UK, but i assume the US is roughly the same), and you don't really want that I imagine.

On a serious note, I can't see how studded tires being legal until April is relevant: if you damaged her drive then you're probably obliged to pay for it. Negotiate a settlement as soon as you can, as a court case will just result in unnecessary bitterness and (most likely) you paying her legal fees as well as the repair bill.

But you see, a burglar was attempting to break into her house, and you saw him trying to open one of the windows, so you had to drive up her driveway to scare him into thinking the occupants were home and running away before he could do any damage. So you were actually helping her. She should be thanking you, right?

And if she sues you, the burglar will know that it was a lie, and he'll come back to burgle her house again, and he'll bring a whole army of terrorists with him, and they'll plant bombs in major population centers across the United States, and assassinate the President, and blow up Congress and the Supreme Court, then deploy their rabid hordes of scimitar-wielding Saracens to ravage the land and salt the earth while laughing manically, and they shall cause dead people to come back to life to feast on the flesh of the living, and.....

Shes PISSED, and I have no way to pay for the damage, How high is the cost of the damage? And how much is your car worth? As it says in the bible "if thy hand offends thee, cut it off"; I'm sure it applies to a car 'offending' your neighbour's drive-way as well ;)
