The head of one of the biggest police forces in Britain has been found dead, it has been revealed.

Michael Todd, the Chief Constable of Greater Manchester Police (GMP), was reported missing on Monday night.

Rescue teams found his body in a beauty spot in North Wales on Tuesday afternoon, rescue teams in the Snowdon area revealed.

Mr Todd, a former Met Police assistant commissioner, joined GMP in 2002. He also worked in Essex and Nottingham.

I doubt it would be a suicide, i mean with a big pension still to take up from a high ranking position, no point in suicide.
Accidental death mayhaps?
Could be a murder considering as he is a police cheif he's bound to have made enemies in his time, political or otherwise.
My guess is he drank too much alcohol and fell down a well.

Well they aren't the only reason but they have a bloody huge impact on your happiness.
Other than that, i suppose you could refute that by saying he lived in a stressful job and wanted to die to escape. but i dissmissed that idea because there's loads of other stressful jobs too, and it would probably have been said by the news folks if he did suffer from oohh i don't know depression? Then again he might have not told anyone, arg i'm going in circles here.

Can we make up lurid details?

Such as:

- His face was frozen in a mask of objective horror.
- He was involved in an embezzling scandal.
- Investigations revealed that he had run for almost twelve kilometers straight before tripping over a rock within the clearing in which he died. (It was a clearing, right?)
- Huge footprints, thrice the size of a man's and bearing no resemblance to those of any living creature, were found in places near the body.
- He was cheating on his wife with an attractive married woman.
- Police investigators who found his body all later died in exactly the same way.

Et cetera, et cetera.
