Threadjacking!: What certain words bring to mind.
Nanatsu no Tsuki

I propose nothing, just describe how it already is.
And in fact, it's not just a mere association, a connotation - it's part of the correct definition of the word.
Nazis don't write dictionaries, but the dictionary, it is written and says what it says.
So getting on anyone's case for associating the word "Aryan" with Nazism is unfair.
Particularly in a case where the context shows the 'Nazi' definition of the word was being used by both Kirschenwhatever and by Nanatsu no Tsuki.
This quote from Greater Trostia makes me wonder, and I ask, what does a word like Aryan brings to mind? Does it make you think of something else but the anti-semitic connotations that it has? If you didn't know what it meant, would it bring to mind something entirely different from Nazi and pure blooded nations? Talk to me.

Check the thread "Pride of Your People". But I'm asking because, after participating on that thread, I made a survey in my office and asked what did the word 'Aryan' brought to mind. All of my co-workers said many things (Zodiac, air, airlines), and none of them had to do with Nazism, pure blooded races or blond-blue eyed. It made me wonder, simple as that.

ah well our concepts of up and down are all the same.
So up is down in some cases and down is up in other cases depending on which people you ask (as if you took two different people on opposite parts of the globe they would have opposite answers).
So it's either neither or both, but not none of them.

Yes, I know. I just asked the question because it would be interesting to see how many people here actually end up associating this word with something else than with Nazism (GT is proud of being blond and blue-eyed, which apparently is that meaning of "Aryan" to this person), and this, in a way, is what Greater Trostia is trying to convey. Or at least, that's what it seems to me he/she's trying to do. I might be wrong.

assuming humans do exist in order to understand ourselves, we would have to go outside of our bodies and watch ourselves, whilst simulaneously not be aware of this new and alien sensation, in a dismembered idea of a 'copy-self' to watch ourselves.
So what i mean is you'd have to create another you in order to get a proper idea of yourself, thus it's understandable that most people can't understand themselves.

ah perhaps, but how do you know you even exist in that matrix at all?
Mayhaps we come from a collection of selfish senses which only postulate these points to give our lives meaning when in fact we are only part of a package process to a perfect being in the universe.
Also those people you see could be clones of others (and in a sense they are) they might not have a 'real' sense of conscious experience, which begs the question what is consciousness?

Well, I'm surrounded by airheads at work:rolleyes:, but it made me think. Aryan is a well-known word, a word that evokes many things, particularly Hitler, WWII and white supremacist groups in the US, at least to a fair number of the NSGers. I even ennunciated the word in Spanish (Ario) and then in English (Aryan), to check if perhaps they were missunderstanding me, but no. To them, Aryan brought to mind the sing of Aries, air and airlines, as you well know. It was bizarre to me, therefore, I asked the NSGers what they thought.
