i was just thinking about ralph nader and how the democrats accuse him of losing the election for them, so here is how my train of thought went:
ralph nader drew votes from al gore
al gore lost to bush
bush caused the iraq war costing iraqi citizens billions of dollars and thousands of lives.
conclusion: ralph nader is indirectly both a mass murder and responsible for the iraq war
does this work

No, because in 2000, we didn't know Bush was going to do this.

I blame the social democratic party whose total was about 50 votes greater than the total number of votes the republicans won by.

That's a tough one. Sounds to me like some serious inquiry is in order. I suggest you play in traffic for a few hours, then check back and see whether we haven't sorted this out. :)

Or you could say that the Democratic Party and Al Gore did not do enough to address the concerns of the people who decided to vote for Nader and therefore lost the election on their own, albiet with a challenge from two sides.

Yes, and the motherfucker is still running for president as if it ain't no thang. Hundreds of thousands dying because Ralph Nader decided that pursuing abstraction was more important than pursuing consequences.

but they wouldnt have voted had he not run

But they were stupid enough to actually vote for him.
I mean - we cannot blame the Bush voters. They just did not know any better. But Nader.. his voters were smart and educated. They knew what they were doing.

so why not?Because he's indirectly responsible for people not voting for Gore. This means that he's indirectly responsible for Gore not winning the election, twice removed. In turn, this would mean he's indirectly responsible for Bush being elected, thrice removed. Now he's indirectly responsible for Bush's actions, which is so far removed it would be absurd to blame him for it.
