You know, there are just some things you do not want to know. I had one of those experience today when I went in for a CT Scan. A CT Scan is where they inject dye into you and then they take X-rays, to make sure a system is function properly. In my case it was the Urinary Tract System. Anyways, before we did this they listed possible side effects of the CT Scan, the dye could leak out of the blood vessel, allergies, etc. At the end I'm like, I did not need to know all of this, in fact I prefer to not know all of this. Just inject the dye into me and get it over with. The side effect of having dye in my body, eh I didn't need to know, and I didn't want to know.

What are some of the things you wished you didn't know?

On the one hand, it sucks knowing that some drug could kill you - I can see that. On the other hand, at least they did the test. I spent five years asking doctors to x-ray me, and no one would. They were more than happy to send me off with thousands of painkillers, but never would they tell me what the hell was wrong with me, until my most recent doctor got curious about an unrelated problem and finally had me x-rayed. Ridiculous.

That one of the meds I take can cause the loss of peripheral vision. Now I am constantly waving my hands behind/beside me to see if I can see them.

Btw, CT dye begins to leave your body almost immediately and according to my tech is out in about six hours max. I have one every six months, like you I don't want to know that stuff. Just get it done with. :p

Ignorance is not bliss, Bliss is ignorance :)

I really wished I didn't know that I have to get wisdom teeth yanked out of me.

I really wish I didn't turn into an agnostic, I really wish I could have been a doubtless Christian or a doubtless atheist instead, it would save me a lot of headaches and conversations with myself.

things i wish i didn't know?
Oh my where do i start?
Knowing so much about how the world functions and precarious it can get, knowing that people in power can do silly things and be let off the hook, knowing that tabloid newspapers are more candy for people who hate criminals than any real substance, knowing i could have done so many other things but they did not happen, knowing too much, far too much.

Knowing about where my food comes from, that half the things i eat are made of horrible things like hooves of pigs and all sorts of nasty chemicals.

I would never wish myself ignorant of anything, no matter how much it upset or angered me.

The real disappointment would be lack of knowledge, really.

They just don't want you to sue them if you do have negative side effects because of the dye. I guess you could tell them beforehand that you don't want to know, but then you'd probably have to sign some sort of waiver...

What are some of the things you wished you didn't know?
Off the top of my head, nothing. However, I will doubtless think of something in the shower tomorrow morning, and come rushing soaking wet out of the bathroom, to post it here, with a towel hurriedly wrapped around my waist to preserve modesty, then slip on the laminate floor and go crashing into the wall.

And when I'm in hospital as a result, about to have dye injected for a CT scan to make sure I've not fucked anything too badly, I'll curse your name, Wilgrove.

QFT.

There are times I've been upset with *how* I learned certain things, but not with the knowledge itself.

There are two levels of Ignorance is bliss:

1. Illiterate farmhand who knows there is food on the table when they get home.

2. When you realise that some things will always be unknown to you and you accept this blissfully.
