and I don't get the point. Driving all the way to this place and just throttling and making noises and drinking up in bars....why :confused:

Hotel rates have quadrupled. Thankfully, I made reservations well in advance, else I might have been forced to stay in St.Augustine or Lake Mary etc (an hours drive).

Traffic is insane...especially following the bikers groups in traffic..no parking available anywhere. The regular places I eat are packed. I can't go out for a drink either.

I am not at all happy. :p

There was a clip on CNN this weekend where two guys go into some venue to hold it up. Alas, they fail to realize it's the venue of some kind of biker convention. The ensuing chase and general violence are captured.

One of them was hospitalised.

As one of the bikers said "You'd think they'd have noticed the enormous line of bikes lined up outside the venue and thought twice about this".

The rental companies ran out of smaller sportier cars and I am stuck with a minivan. :(

I saw something as funny myself once, also in Australia.

In Sydney, there's an area called King's Cross, essentially the seedy part of town but cheap beers and a BK joint to boot. Lined up along the road were these bikes, always about 15-20 of them along with the riders. These guys were generally complete assholes and if you so much as brushed one of their precious, shiny bikes, which kind of crowded the pavement, they'd get very aggressive.

Anyway, one night we're sitting at the BK eating our burger when we hear and see this truck come thundering up the road. It then swerves directly into these bikes, mowing each and everyone of them down, crushing them underwheel before the truck stops and out jumps this rabbit of a man, who takes one look at the faces of the bikers - a mixture of surprise, horror, violence and insane rage - and scarpers off down a street, soon to be followed by hordes of bikers.

The funniest thing, as though straight out of a comedy movie, is that about 2 minutes later - while the slow mumble of 'oh my god' gathered, the guy comes running back up from another street, through the crowd and off into the distance, at which point round came the bikers again in chase.

Man, it was too funny.

I heard the next day, I remember it was reported, that the guy had lost his job from a trucking company and stole it, driving it around in a rage til he piled into the bikes.

I drive a lot of rented minivans in my work. It's weird to have an opinion on minivans...(sto-n-go seating for the win)
