Did Spartacus claim to be sent by God or perform any (alleged)miracles?

What is Spartacus was Jewish? He becomes a slave starts a revolt then he makes a sacrifice for the slaves he is leading. He offers himself on the cross in exchange for his people, taking all their sins upon him like Jesus does in the bible (later the Roman army slaughter the slaves anyway). Could he be a prophet from god for the jewish people? Would this kick start Christianity earlier based around Italy though? Would he feature in the new Testament and would he influence Christianity today?

Meh, can't get better than the "I'm Spartacus!" scene.

Trying to re-engineer a violent slave revolt into a religious thing seems... odd, really.

He could well have been Jewish to begin with, considering the confusion about where he was from, mainly stemming from the fact that he's labelled a a Thracian, which is both a place and a style of Gladiator.

Interesting. However, his philosophy seems to differ greatly from Jesus'; I really do not believe religion can be started by violence...religion is very nice and peaceful....

Would he influence Christianity? Not half as much as wildly inaccurate movies influence peoples' perception of history.

Apart from anything else, Spartacus wasn't crucified.
