I think I agree with you. Thanks for bringing this serious issue to my attention, because I really hadn't thought about this kind of consequence of independence.

I dont think they should.

That nation has suffered enough...

I don't think suffering is relevant to Eurovision participation.

maybe, if they want to but they're not really missing out on much. What would be more interesting is if they can enter the olympics, and large sporting events.

Nope. Their people have suffered enough, let's not make it worse for them.

I don't think they need any more punishment.

Well, they can have Britain's place. We never win.

Because of the politics involved i think. But i haven't seen any British acts in Eurovision in many years, as i missed them.
It's not really to do with the acts anymore, almost purely the politics.

Considering the usual Eurovision politics, Kosovo and Serbia would probably vote for each other.

Finland kicked ass with their death metal act a few years ago (Lordi got the most points of any act ever i think). It was nice to see people voting for what they actually liked.

I think it was basically decided that the Iraq War nuked our chances completely, so they're entering any old pish.

Has always been the case.

yeah i notice it's usually Denmark or Sweden or some Baltic country that wins, well the ones i've heard of i don't really stay on the pulse with the Eurovision song contest, except for the songs as some of them are really funny, e.g.we are the winners last year, was really funny and wierd.:)

Has always been the case.Politics in Eurovision? Are you kidding? No one takes it seriously enough for politics to play a major role.

riiiiight.
Sure it doesn't affect anyone that much but it's still politically based, point scoring, showing who the (is it people who phone in to vote or what? i never really got how the votes were done) people vote for.
Mind you politics can get pretty stupid too, in quite alot of cases, then again it's very hard to stay in as a politician (that is if you don't have mountains of wealth).

I guess there are participation rules and terms made by ESC which will be consulted in case Kosovo decides to enter the mentioned competition. My personal opinion is that they have bigger issues in their hands to deal with, at this moment...

WTF is Eurovision?

you are untainted by this beast, your ignorance in this is your strength.
It really isn't anything worth looking into, a contest where each country in Europe try to outdo each other in a contest of a song, then their public votes for which performance they like best.
But it usually is affected by politics so it's a farce as far as i know.

The only time I can tolerate Wogan seems to be Eurovision, oddly.
