Violin Diplomacy - Can it work?

With the New York Philharmonic having its first performance in Pyongyang last night, and with the prospect of Eric Clapton paying a visit to North Korea, it was hailed as Violin Diplomacy, similar to the Pingpong Diplomacy between the PRC and the United States during the 1970s and 1980s.

Do you think that it is possible that North Korea could finally be brought out of the cold and for the last vestiges of the Cold War to thaw? Consider that last night at the performance, you had North Koreans standing to attention while the United States National Anthem was being played (a scene I would have paid to see).

'Tis an amazing thing, the way music transcends any political grievances. Reminds me of Barenboim's Israeli/Palestinian orchestra.
