Facebook, MySpace, Friendster, Skyblog... which ones are more popular and where?

Geograhical Breakdown (http://www.lemonde.fr/web/infog/0,47-0@2-651865,54-999097@51-999297,0.html)

Do you use any of these services or not?

I don't. But I still found this breakdown interesting. And I'm sorry in advanced but this is in French...

I use Facebook and Xanga. I've thought about MySpace, but probably won't get one.

I had Myspace, but got tired of seeing all my friends reposting the latest quiz/poll and all the "come be my friend" adds from supposed young, lonely women. Meh. I've never been that social anyway.

There's nothing more boring than someone telling you about their facebook. 'I just got this awesome new application blahblahblah'. just shoot me.

i have accounts with myspace, bebo, facebook, and probably others i can't even remember. but i almost never sign in because

a) most of what i get is boring "someone sent you a kick in the nuts on your funwall" shit

or b) blog posts i couldn't give a toss less about

or c) because my friends suck

I have used both myspace and facebook. Facebook is handy for keeping in touch with your mates, but in all honesty, shit why not just email them.

I used to occasionally get e-mail invites from somebody to join ... probably Facebook, could have been some other site. I don't think I ever did it, though: I have no friends and am not really interested in finding them through such media. And I'm not sure what else you can do on such sites.

Anyway, I already have a cell phone and an email address. If I ever were to obtain friends, they could get in touch with me by either of those means.

I don't use such things.

I ought to though. Finding people with all my interests is hard!!!!

If I were to recommend one of those social networking sites, I would say Facebook. I had a MySpace, and it was hacked so many times, I got tired of it. As for Facebook, although I have one, I rarely log in.

I use Facebook. I just find it easy to keep in contact with friends from far off and see what they're up to now.

I use Facebook, and, while I technically have a MySpace, that's just because I've occasionally had people send me their myspace profiles when trying to give me their pics, so I registered so that I could look at them. I don't use it otherwise, though.

My facebook, on the other hand, I use a good bit. I even occasionally find a friend on there that I hadn't seen for a few years and I'd long given up any hope of contacting. It's also how I originally found my campus's chapter of Students for Barack Obama and got involved with volunteering there.

I don't use any of them - then again, I'm an adult (pretty much) rather than a permanently plugged-in adolescent who'd hang himself if he lost his cell phone. :p

In other words, I'm feelin' the generation gap in a big way with these threads (there've been a few this week).

Quite an interesting map and graphs. I rememeber reading about a year ago that in America Facebook was used by the middle to upper class, whereas MySpace was used by the lower middle to lower class. And indeed the US Army had banned MySpace but still allowed Facebook to be used. Quite interesting reading espically if you look at the two formats where Facebook is or at least used to be more refined.

In Australia most people have both some have only one, myself I only have a Facebook, not that I go onto it that much anymore

I do use facebook, but you will not find a single application on it, except the one I added about the upcoming elections. I like to brainwash poor shuffling facebookers with my opinions on politics.

I even feel this so-called generation gap, despite the fact that I am a young lad.(relatively) The things kids do these days...*shakes head*
