Find out where you stand fruit-wise! :)

Almost all fruit dip into the "untasty" part for me.

I join pineapples and watermelons in their quadrant. I am tasty and difficult.

Are you sure?
When it comes to biology/botany it is a fruit but when it comes to food it is a vegetable. I'd never put tomato in a fruit salad, it belongs in vegetable salad.

That map is questionable. I'd say banana is easier than anything except seedless grapes and berries while blood grapefruit juice rules the tasty axis.

Lemons beat grapefruits hands down. And they're definitely tastier than pomegranites. ><;

Hmmm... where're my favorite fruits, the chili peppers?

The chart must be wrong, tomatoes aren't fruit!

They most certainly are. (Unless you want to go discounting berries as fruit...)

Fruit Characteristics. The tomato fruit is a classified botanically as berry. Size varies from small cherry types with only two divisions of the ovary (locules) to large multi-locular beefsteak types.

Attribute it please, it's from XKCD (http://xkcd.com)

That's completely innacurate. Grapes are almost impossible to peel.

This chart shows clear bigotry against sour fruits. We, lovers of oranges and lemons say the bells of saint.....er, must rise up and fight against the oppression of this sweetrichal hierarchy. No more should our fruit leanings be denounced as 'untasty', but be celebrated as the nation symbol of random small churches in greater London that they are.

I did. When I posted. Or did you NOT notice the link? Way to display your lack of reading comprehension. I linked it to the page where it's from AND included the title I found there. In fact, I find it quite ironic that you're telling me to link to something, and when you quoted me, you FAILED to notice the very link that I was supposed to include. Perhaps you'd like to crawl back under your rock? And here's something more... I linked to the actual spot where the image is you merely linked to the website.

I thought there was no 'scientific' way of categorizing fruits and vegetables. Even if there was I wouldn't really consider tomatoes to be fruit, you use them for other things than most normal fruits. I say it's time we bring back the tomato -apartheid and come to realize that tomatoes are sub-fruits and should be treated accordingly.

You're halfway right. There's not a botanical definition of "vegetable" (other than plant matter). However, fruit does have a specific botanical definition.

Botanically, a fruit is the ripened ovary of a flower, its contents and any of its related parts. Botanically, there isn't a classification for a vegetable. Therefore, many foods we think are vegetables are actually fruits!

What happened to... kiwis, raspberries, blackberries, gooseberries, mangoes, nectarines, apricots, pluots, limes, litchi, durian, papaya, cantaloupe, Asian pear, tangerines, muscat, honeydew, dragonfruit, parsimmon.... ?

( ;) )

And, citrus lover here, so naturally I'd change some things around a bit. But that's me, and tastes vary.
