If your American, you can say why we suck. I have given up on any people here who have an un-biased view point of the pro's and con's of America and other countries. It's always "America is always bad and wrong and other countries evils or problems are the yanks fault." So go on ahead haters, this thread is just for you.

I don't believe there are better or worse countries.
There are different countries that suit people differently. Ireland suits me cause I like the country, climate, accents, history, personal liberties, job situation, and a good few people here.

I think we, the US, suck because of our people with this sort of siege mentality regarding all things foreign, who pre-emptively start America-bashing threads just so they can point with righteous indignation at the America-bashing and that therefore, we need massive border fortifications, land mines and a few armored divisions patrolling between Mexico and the US!

Then they wonder why people would disagree, and of course the only possible answer is pure, undying hatred of America. Yes indeed.

Jealousy.
You forgot jealousy.
The rest of the world feels this undying hatred for the US because they are so utterly jealous of the US' freedoms. *nods*

Well, in defence of the states (as I live here), America has relatively good treatment of disabled and mentally retarded people. (Special care, etc at school) Stores like Walmart usually are pretty nondiscriminatory when hiring, you don't even have to speak English to get a job at Walmart. :)

Plus we have cheap food and roomy bathrooms. $8 for a big mac in London? Not here. :P

Or go to one of the many authentic Asian restaurants in the UK.

Sure there’s plenty of faux-Asian food on the market, but the UK has a large and thriving Asian community. You can’t be seriously maintaining that all these people suddenly stop being able to cook Asian food just because they moved away from Asia, or that those who were brought up in British-Asian households cannot cook Asian food.

If I go down to London and cook a dish of haggis, neeps and tatties, am I suddenly unable to call it Scottish cooking?

No, but your consitant attacks on the US is trolling. Your comment was meant to incite an aggressive response, hence you are a troll.

You mean 'exploitation loving people' right? The US was formed as and continues to this day not as a country but a nice outpost for capitalism, cheap labor etc. It's telling that even the right-wing media during the late 1800's in Europe criticize the brutal way American businesses repressed their workers into inhumane conditions, and hundreds were murdered for profit. when you say "wailing on the US" do you mean disagreeing with the country's foreign policy? or disagreeing with general social attitudes within the country?

In actual fact Americans do tend to be less intelligent, more prone to bigotry and general hysteria and petty displays of circus-style nationalism. Their political attitudes to the rest of the world resemble an astounding arrogance, irrationality and exceptionalism.

According to what you see on TV, of course. A small, noisy minority gives the rest of us a bad name. Like the handfull of nationstaters who seem to be unable to accept that others disagree with their socialist utopian idealism making the whole forum crowd seem hostile to those who disagree with that philosophy.

Well, now you've got it, such usefulness as the thread ever had is over.

Congratulations to all who didn't post, and to all who, having posted, kept their cool and their sense of humour.

How can you prove that those that represent you don't represent the majority? In more likelihood it's the minority who are not like that.
