Although, he does have a point when he refers to a culture of violence.

I mean, you guys freak out when you see a nipple, but it's totally okay to see people mowed down on afternoon television.

Violence solves problems, might makes right - it's something that is shown to the public each and every day. But Lord forbid some mislead fool acts on what he's "learned" from growing up in said society.

I mean, I probably would too if I didn't know any better and could get my hands on a shoota and some dakka.

Or so says Robert Pritchard (R), a state legislator for Illinois.

This certainly doesnt reek of an attempt to divert attention from gun control to ME. No sirree, not at all.
Of course, I've had a cold recently, so my sense of smell isnt too great right now.

How about blaming lack “individual responsibility” and a lack of respect for others and the sanctity of life?

is there any indication that the killer even played video games?

Guns don't kill people, they simply give people the chance to, on a split second's whim, propel white-hot metal away from their hand and straight into a target causing instant and dramatic injury.

Video games on the other hand... well, I suppose you could throw the disc at someone...

Man...this is the worst case of time-warping I've seen in a while...

Anyway, glad to see NSG feels the same way I do.

If you want to get that specific, then its impossible to physically hurt a person with a video game, since it consists of computer code. The physical disc could concievably be fashioned into some sort of weapon, and the box as well, however, causing a person physical injury with computer code...well...unless you printed it out and dropped boxes of it on them...

(I have to admit, I feel a little strange advocating non-violence. That is so out of character!!! ;))

Or make them read it. I'm pretty sure there is the odd programmer who's gone insane over the code!

(And then used a gun to get even with the bad world forcing him to program violent video games!)

Did it occur to you that some people don't consider life sacred? (And why should they?)

I personally think this is a social problem far beyond video games, the latter only expressing the former...you could as well ban society...

Edit: The problem being an almost complete loss of sensitivity to other people's pain in general...IMHO

I suppose the code could theoretically make a game that used harmful frequencies, or induced seizures....

That man is allowed to have that shotgun, there's something inherently wrong with that.

Video games do kill people. Why just yesterday I tried to play one of my games but it jumped out at me, brandishing a knife. It then told me to hand over my wallet. I had no wallet on me at the time. I was stabbed repeatedly.

That's not a shotgun, that's a Revolutionary War era flintlock rifle.

I see nothing wrong with Charlton Heston having any kind of gun.

I think video games is a part of the problem, television, movies. Just a whole culture of violence.

Bah, a whole culture of violence is fine by me, it is a whole culture of piss poor grammar that is so damn deadly. :p

Um, wait. You don't think there's a good reason to consider life sacred, but you consider being insensitive to pain a problem?

There are over 6,649,117,969 at last count, human life is inflated further than the Mark during the 1920s :p
