So this guy has blown tires, goes wrong way on the Freeway, makes a U turn, gets out of the runaway car, the Police runs him over, I am sure he is almost dead.. then he rises like Lazarus and keeps running...

I'm just glad that no one else was hurt... that is I HOPE no one else was hurt.

EDIT: ohhh a thread steal... er... HEY OD2... GOT ANY INTERESTING POLICE CHASE VIDS YOU CAN POST? :p

...he didn't get "run over" so much as bounced off the front bumper/left quarter panel....

I don't see what all the fuss was about he was clearly on the correct side of the road :p

It doesn't look to me as if he was harmed too badly by the car.. it wasn'tt he officer's fault, it was the suspects...

It's all those other nutters driving on the right - what were they thinking? And why weren't the cops setting a better example?

He appeared to have been travelling north on a southbound highway. Or south on a northbound... or east on a westbound.... or west on an eastbound...

and cutting across four lanes of traffic in an f-u turn at 55mph+ clearly isn't cricket.

Never run from the police. Especially if you're on foot. ANd naked. And drunk. And walking 3 miles home at 2am because after losing your clothes in a game af strip poker, you don't trust your mischievous friends not to mess with you while you sleep it off at their house.

Those pricker bushes hurt. :(

Err I think you'll find that everyone else was going the wrong way down the road. Big props to that guy for raising awareness of how to drive correctly.

Exactly, just doing the right thing, it's the other drivers who're on the wrong side of the road.:)
And he had to do a U-turn when he found out that there were so many nutters on the road, then gets chased by police? i mean come on US tyranny of the majority.
Just as well no-one else was hurt.

I don't know if hitting a suspect with a car is standard Police procedure...

Then again, neither is bouncing off the bonnet like nothing happened and continuing to run...

I'm not sure that police are trained in either how best to hit suspects with a car, nor how to avoid injury :p

I'm sure standard protocol has a get-out clause for people too stubborn to admit they've just been run over by a car.

Not only was no harm done, but the best part is that the suspect, once out of the tangle of branches that initially slowed him down actually outdistances the cop chasing him (to the point where the cop is out of the camera's frame). Had there been more open forest trail for the suspect to dash along, the cop would have lost him.

That always cracks me up about some policemen. If I could outrun some of these porkers, perhaps the physical standards aren't what they should be. I already know the psychological standards aren't what they should be.

I didn't think that video was to big of deal. No one got hurt it looks like so no harm no foul. However did you see one of the other videos in that link? The Lake Peigneur Mining Disaster from the 80's? I forgot about that one. Now that was impressive.
