I usually get my news from CNN.com but I was looking through the world news section and saw "the U.S." this and "the U.S." that. Does anyone know of a website that reports on the world news really well without telling me everything the U.S. is doing? I live in the U.S. and if I want to hear about my country, I'll tune into the National News section. When I click on the World News section I want to hear about the rest of the world, not just what my country is doing with the rest of the world. On CNN.com the national news section and the world news section are redundant and I was wondering if anyone knows of a website that reports on world news without the U.S. flare.

Thanks.

Thanks. You can switch to the international version. Or you can go to BBC.co.uk and use the international version there.

Yeah I would agree with that, I watch the World News Hour every night and it's far better than the others, which can be too brief.

Ah, SBS and their oxymorons. :p

I actually think SBS is the only decent station on Australian television, even ABC are becoming too commercialistic

I usually go with Reuters (http://www.reuters.com/news/international), as the BBC can, at times, be too focused on the English-speaking world.

But, as with any news-gathering, always use multiple sources and always take reports with healthy doses of reason and scrutiny.

International Herald Tribune (http://www.iht.com/)
Done by those nice people at the New York Times, I believe.

I'd second this.

For some reason, I always get a distinct sense of pleasure from reading the paper version of the IHT. There's something wonderfully 19th century about its feel.

I get that too! Its like you expect every article to be authored by 'our man in Kathmandu'.

It's the small print and narrow columns, I think.

Personally, I always expect to turn the page and find myself reading an update on Phileas Fogg's progress...
