PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Former Republican Sen. Lincoln Chafee endorsed Democratic Sen. Barack Obama on Thursday, saying he is the best presidential candidate to restore the nation's credibility.
...
"I believe Senator Obama is the best candidate to restore American credibility, to restore our confidence, to be moral and just, and to bring people together to solve the complex issues such as the economy, the environment and global stability," Chafee said in a conference call with reporters.

March3, that is the key date for Obama.

I guess its true, Independents and Republicans are more likely to vote for Obama.

I'd agree. Clinton would be a US with the same two families at the top for 24-28 years and McCain would be a hawkish Republican. Obama is not an old white man, though he may be a bit on the hawkish side.

On the other hand, this is definitely a "best way to restore it" type affair, and would be absolutely no guarantee of a healing of the rifts that have grown between Europe and the US in the last eight-ish years.

I don't see how the endorsement of some ponce who lost when he had 63% approval can help. Both Obama and Hilary have tons of endorsement from Democratic allegiance Leaders. But few former Republicans/independents oppenly supporting them.

My points is about the possibility of Independents and Republicans voting for Obama.

I don't see how the endorsement of some ponce who lost when he had 63% approval can help. Seriously, how do you lose with that kind of rating?

Electoral College. It doesn't matter if the people like you. It's if the right people do.

There's an awful lot of former Republicans supporting Barack Obama...and I don't think that's pure chance.
