When do you plan on leaving NS...

We all have to do it at some point, and join RL. Many of our brethren have already succumbed to it. So my question is, when do you plan on leaving NS?

Hadn't planned it at all. If/when I leave it'll probably be simply because I'm too busy & just don't get on NSG anymore.

I don't plan on leaving at any point, though if I ever get to the point where I'm so busy that I have little free time I might find myself abandoning it. We'll see.

I'd rather not, though. I'll need NSG to keep me sane once I'm in the Navy.

I suppose when someone realizes higher up that NS2 will never come out and decide that no one is buying the crappy books anymore they then shut the site down. Until then I will be on and off NSG about as much as my favorite ex-girlfriend Samantha. Which if that is any indicator was very often.

How much time I spend here depends on how much uni work I have and whether there are interesting threads to post in. At the moment there are interesting threads and uni isn't back until the 25th (finally!!! I've been off WAY too long), so I've been posting. I'll slowly stop posting soon, and then hopefully come back every now and then, if I don't, then that's when I leave, if not then the cycle continues.

i did not have to leave real life to join ns so i see no reason i should have to abondon ns to go on with my real life.

i am however, forced off the internet entirely every few years by equipment attrition. owing to my limited cash flow, it may take me anywhere from a month to a decade to return when this happens. and as it happens, generally without prior warning when it does, there's no way i can put cameroi, or whatever other nation i happen to be playing at the time, properly on ice to await my return.

this is what happened to carlemnaria and why i'm now cameroi instead.

this is also why i haven't volunteered to help mod anyplace.

and why i'm not any sort of genius guru, dispite my many years of playing with tecnology, almost from before there were i.c.'s, let alone cpu's on a chip.

So desu ne...

Makes me laugh, but then, I only get it very occasionally on TV.

I will of course not leave until RL has become more interesting. I suspect that will be when I leave for my adventureous holiday some time after the middle of the year (though of course I may have a thread running to update stuff that happens, which I then neglect...) Then my honours year will suffer because I'll take up time I don't have to spend on NSG.

But then, once I finish honest work my boss may make me stop. Or, if I'm lucky, it'll actually be exciting enough work to make me fade away, as some put it.

I've often gotten burned out on General, but stuck around for nation-building and regional gameplay. I've had periods when I've been too busy to be active because my boss expected work out of me (bosses are strange that way). My main nation was in danger of CTE last year due to power outages (and a few minor nations DID succumb). But, so far I'm still here and have no plans to leave.

In simplified version it goes really cold winter, lots of people die, then the battle begins, the world ends in Fire as Yggdrasil is burned down to the roots, of course killing all humans. The final battle ends soon afterward, and the world cools to ice.

Fire and Ice

Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.

Fiddles is part of the Jolt/Nationstates joint historical trail. We should attach a small informative plaque to him.Oh, speaking of which, I decided to wiki NS out of sheer boredom. I followed the paper trail to the official Moderation thread on the deletion of Hogsweat, which I'd completely forgotten about, only to realize I was one of the first people to post in that thread... go figure. =/

When shall I leave.....well, I haven't posted anything in months, barely post at all. I am a remnant of a time long gone(pre-Jolt). I just click an issue every few days or so, just as habit. I am basically gone, but still here. Over 4 years, and fading away.

See, see, see! They're just trying to sweep me under the rug, just like that.
But the man isn't going to keep me down!
That is but one of the many similarities between me and a month-old carton of Chinese food.

We all have to do it at some point, and join RL. Many of our brethren have already succumbed to it. So my question is, when do you plan on leaving NS?

I'm leaving at 10k :D

Great thread Zilam, I would love some Public Poll options on this thread.

Never. even though I am the most ignored person on General Forums & International Incidents. Once in awhile a few of you will throw me a bone here and there. Ok when I die. Even then all our posts will live on forever on the internet. If can post from beyond my grave I will.

I believe that it was on November 30th, 2006 that several posters got their accounts screwed up. I also believe I'm the only one with a zombie account (no sig, no post count) that is still active, as the rest either got new nations or wandered away.
I was a ghost for quite a while. Well, my nation was anyway. :p

I had lots of family business to attend to, and couldn't spend much time on NSG each day. Check in, post a couple of comments and only wait five minutes for replies. Furthermore, if anyone wanted to carry it on or debate what I said, I had to bow out.

I found there was a pretty sudden tipping-point, where I didn't really feel part of NSG any more. You pretty much have to invest an hour or so, or it just isn't worth doing.

One of the reasons I started to RP was I got tired of answering Issues. That changed my 52 NS nations UN Rankings. Sometimes we want to change the rankings, but most times not.

I know I have a very unique style of RP. I know I am not a good RP er. As far as posting on the general forums and International Incidents, If can post from beyond my grave I will.

Again, I haven't made any plans to leave. This is my second nation, I ended up getting busy and first nation got deactivated so I just decided to start new one altogether. I am sure at some point I will just fade away as other things take more precedence again but for now I am having fun. :)

I have been on the same pace of checking this account every weekend, from time to time saying hello to an old friend, and from time to time even trying to role play in my or another region. If I have a few weeks of forgetfulness due to old age (31), I could very well have my account cancelled for lack of use.. But, for now, all is well in Danmarc.
