You know what I look foward to the most in November?

Besides my birthday, that is.

I look foward to, after the Democrats win the election, being able to tell any conservative/right winger whenever they complaign something like, "Your unpatriotic!", "You hate America!", "Youre emboldening the enemy!", and "If you dont like it, move to China!"

You know, all the exact same things the moronic pundits and equally stupid average conservatives said to anyone when they disagreed with President Bush.

Oh...how I will relish it.
*Crosses fingers* Please no Hillary, please no Hillary, please no Hillary...

Maybe you could look forward to de-polarising the entire US political scene and to ending the divison of all Americans into two groups, conservatives and liberals.

Then you, and others, wouldn't make such inane generalisations.

As satisfying as that may sound

and I'm guessing (hoping) you were just kidding

don't

Sinking to their level makes us no better than them

also, they won't get it

No. See, in America, there's always 2 sides. Right and Wrong. One side is always right and one side is always wrong. When someone is wrong once, they are always wrong. Thats how it works in America.

Wow, I apperantly need to state this, because some are oblivious.

This was intended as a joke. Thank you. Have a nice day.

This was more meant to point out how he administration and his cabal in the White House and lackies in the media have attempted to make critisim of the president a demonizing thing. All Im saying is it will be interesting to see if the right suddenly changes its mind that its not ok and unpatriotic to critisize the president after they lose.

I look forward to NaNoWriMo.
And hopefully winning this year... or do I want to win this year?
Because it's my fourth year, and I don't like the number four, so...
Maybe I'll just look forward to nearly winning.

Well, on the plus side, this inane electoral system is what turned people like me from mild-mannered liberals to foaming at the mouth anarchists.

Or it could be that you never had a rabies shot. ;)

not going to happen, you know why? it's been going on for years before the Clinton/Bush regimes.

infact, if you want something closer, look to the 2000 elections. How many Dems said, on camera, "if George Bush is elected, I'm leaving the country"? the same people who also said in 2004 "if George Bush is RE-elected, I'm leaving the country".

and those people are still here...

so sorry, but Conservatives and Republicans are not the only ones who have and will backpedal on what they said in the past.

You know what I would really look forward to in the US?

An end to this fucking culture of hubris and generally being smug about things.

"Yeah, like, when the Dems win, I'll mock the Republicans"

Awesome, squire. Couldn't you just calm the whole situation down by not being an utter twat about it, which is seemingly what you dislike about conservatives?

I'm sorry, but when you think that becoming some lame-arse anarchist instead of being slightly sensible and centrist is for the best, there's something extremely wrong with the system.

Being moderate and inoffensive doesn't change things. We need to step out of line if we want the line to point in the right direction.

For your information, I am an anarchist because I oppose oppression no matter what ideology it chooses to cloak itself with, whether "sensible", "centrist" or "radical".

That's not me saying "haww haww we are so much better than them", more "damn, that's a bit tragic".

a lot less of the personality cults too. i prefer it. i like to vote on issues only and they can only be judged immediatel prior to the elections given the switching and turning that occurs. still that means bugger all given the integrity of your average polititian.

Dissent is a powerful political force for change, perhaps even the most powerful. Anarchy might be naive, idealistic and unwise, but at least its heart is in the right place.

Mass dissent is very rare in the US, hence despite its obvious utility as a method for change, the actual impact of dissent is pretty limited.

Dissent never got anyone anywhere besides sitting in the cold aimlessly (such a change from what kids today do anyway :p)

it got rid of the poll tax idea. for a time at least. till the government learned stealth. no matter who you vote for, the government always gets in. or something like that. it's just too true.

November=Thanksgiving. Then, November=Post-Halloween Candy Sales (yes, I'm aware that the sales are chronologically before Thanksgiving, but I'm ranking by importance).
Anything, everything else happening in November is of minimal importance next to those two points on the Food Calendar.

Also, Bush will still be President in November, and on until the first days of '09, so your nanny-boo-booing will be premature.
