I know there's a lot of support for Obama around here, and that there's a good amount of dislike for Clinton. Assuming Clinton wins the nomination, and the Republican nominee is McCain, what would you do?

I've said it before and I'll say it again:

Mickey Mouse for President

Probably vote for the Green Party candidate. My district and state aren't likely to drift from the democrats to the point that hardly anyone bothers to campaign here even though we have the most people. I believe in more of what the Green Party supports and if they reach 15% of the vote then they become more eligible for funding and access to national ballots. If I truly believe we need more choices then I need to not be chickenshit about making them.

While I believe Clinton will be a better president than McCain, I don't believe in her enough to vote for her, rather I'd be voting against a Republican presidency. Obama I could actual feel I'd be voting for, and that's a change. But it's a long way to November, so we'll see.

EDIT: I should point out that I'm not actually a member of the Democratic Party, never have been. Forgot that important part of the OPs question.

I'd be pretty upset, but I can't say what I would do. Probably stay home and mope. Maybe hold my nose and vote against the Republicans. I guess it all depends on how much self loathing I want in my future.

There's no option for me! I'm an Obama fan, but if it was between Hillary and McCain, I'd vote for McCain.
Then go home and cry because I'd betrayed all my ideals to avoid putting Hillary in the White House.
Then, if she won the election, I repeat that I would move to Canada and start a web comic called "The Adventures of the First Gentleman."

I would most likely vote for the Green Party candidate as well. Being an independent I have no obligations to either major party.

I miss the old Libertarian Party, before they deleted most of their platform. No wonder Rothbard, Raimando, and the rest left in disgust.

I'd vote for General Zod.

As it turns out, that would involve voting for McCain.

Consider:

Both spent significant time imprisoned in anguishing conditions

Both have fought with particular enemies
One fought the son of Jor-El
The other fought the son of George 1

Both are military men

Both support continued operations in the Middle East to improve America's position

Oh, and they seem to act similarly to each other.

Vote for Zod.

If you can't write him in, then vote McCain! If Barack isn't still running.

The nice part about living in Connecticut is that since my vote doesn't matter, I don't have to decide between lesser evils. I can vote for someone competent. Probably my cat. :)

Goofballs, one problem: despite all that "nine-lives" crap, I highly doubt that your cat could make the 35 year age requirement (measured in human years).

Also, for Pete's sake, a cat? That's a terrible idea. Cats are, by definition, evil, and not beholden to assist man. A turtle, on the other hand, in addition to being able to meet the age requirement, would make a great president, as you would never see it rush into political F*^K ups without first pausing to be sure of itself.

Actually, yeah, the poll is silly. It leaves out the Republicans who don't loathe Clinton (assuming any of them exist) as well.

I am a supporter of Obama. The poll does not have an answer for me or a lot of people. It virtually assumes that you have to hate Hillary to like Obama.

Hillary vs. McCain: I vote McCain.

Obama vs. McCain: I read up on both and make an informed decision. If forced to pick at this moment, I flip a coin or vote third party.

Obama vs. Huckabee: I vote Obama. Abolishing income tax is insane.

Hillary vs. Huckabee: I pray a third-party candidate wins; barring that, I look for jobs in Canada.

What a sad look into democracy. So you just vote against other people. Wouldn't it be nice to finally, just once, be voting for a candidate you actually wanted to see in the white house?

I'm looking forward to an Obama White House. This election has had one bonus already. It appears we're finally ready to pick our candidates from all potential candidates and not just the few we can find among the white Christian heterosexual male part. Okay, maybe not all, but we're moving in the right direction.

Meh, Obama might possibly be the best choice, but I don't agree with him on everything.

What does that have to do with anything? I've never had a leader I agreed with on everything, but I've had several I was honored to be led by and who improved my life by leading me. I wouldn't say the same about Obama and I don't expect the same from Obama, so why would my expectations about agreeing with him be higher.

Even Obama doesn't think he's always right. He's made this point frequently.

Why do you all hate Hillary Clinton?

She's one of the biggest shills for the warfare state; she enjoys very enthusiastic support from the military-industrial complex; she is a belligerent warmonger who favors war with Iran more strongly than even the Republicans (sans John McCain, who is the biggest warmonger of all); she is an authoritarian pro-censorship freak (she wants the internet to be "moderated"); and she has proven to be, time and time again, an elephant in a donkey's skin.

What I do next depends on their respect of Democracy.

I wouldn't hold it against the party if they used the superdelegates to choose the nominee. They're a political party, and while they try their best to be democratic, a certain amount of meritocracy has to exist for the party to function.
