Mr. Rude a Frenchmen

After deciding that the Mr. Men seris should be given a makeover under the grounds of such BS P.C issues such as lack of equality and other such issues the people in charge at Channel 5 have been hypocritical of their beliefs (as most lefties are) and have decided to give one carachter Mr. Rude a French accent, now I hate the French as much as the next man and while most Frenchmen are rude, it is a bit strange for a group who wanted to make the series more P.C have gone down this path

Do they have a character who is a loud, piss-drunk Brit that riots a lot?

Nowhere in the article does it say that anyone is:
updating the Mr. Men
making them 'more PC'
arguing that there is a lack of equality in the Mr. Men.
oui, oui, oui, no one is responding

I bet he is not really rude its just that he has to speak English all day because ignorant Mr's (and little Misses) can't be bothered to learn how to speak the basic language of a nation they are visiting
I thought this thread was about Mr Benn :(

Ok let me find an article from 6 months ago that mentioned all these things.
Cast your memory back to this time when this was mentioned and you will remember that is was going to be updated and made more P.C one of the major points they said was that the number of Misters outnumbered the number of misses and so they would attempt to make the gender balance more equal.

Please bear in mind that news.com.au is Rupert Murdoch, AKA Fox News. You should take into account the perspective that this particular news outlet has.

Please bear in mind that you should understand how Murdoch's media outlets work first of all each individual outlet doesn't all come under the same guidence, as evidenced by bthat fact the news.com.au does not have a right wing bias, second of all if you read some of his other outlets such as The Australian and The Advertiser you would notice that the editorship and direction of the paper is different.
And what the hell does that have to do with this anyway we are just taking it off quotes in the article made by people

I don't follow Mr Men news too closely, so if you could find an article linking a new series of Mr Men with that great myth of 'political correctness' it would be useful.

This all seems to be a bit of non-story. Forgive me if I wrong, but one seems to require a lot of paranoia to render it as "vast PC-conspiracy" ruins childhood idols.
Also, I have never really seen Channel 5 as particuarly liberal. Largely due to all the soft porn they used to make their name.

So there are more male characters than female characters and as 50% of their audience are female they've made the no-brainer business decision to not alienate half of their potential customers by balancing it out a bit.
Poor, victimised white male.
All together now:
"It's political correctness gone mad!"
