An armed gang has stolen four paintings worth some $160m (£82m) by the great painters Cezanne, Degas, Van Gogh and Monet from a museum in Zurich.
That is alot of money.

We're talking about the biggest ever robbery carried out in Switzerland, even Europe," Zurich police spokesman Mario Cortesi told journalists.
I don't think any paintings are worth that much money.
2007 - Picasso's Portrait of Suzanne Bloch (worth £26m) stolen in Sao Paulo; later found
2004 - Munch's Scream and Madonna (valued at £10m) snatched in Oslo; recovered in 2006
2003 - Da Vinci's Madonna with the Yarnwinder (valued at £30m) stolen in Scotland; found in 2007
2002 - Van Gogh's two works (worth millions of dollars) stolen in Amsterdam
Again more stolen paintings.
Who would buy a stolen painting though, and how could you sell such well known paintings?

There are private, unscrupulous collectors who would be more than happy to add these to their collections. Sure, they couldn't show them off in public, but for some people just owning them is enough.

I find it super lolz that apparently Van Gogh never truly sold any of his paintings while he was alive and now their worth millions...his brother had apparently bought one of his out of pity..
I find it super lolz that one could take a picture of one of those paintings, blow it up to full size and put it in a nice frame. All for the minutest fraction of a fraction of the price of one of those paintings.

I think I could deal with that for a few million dollars.

I think I could deal with that for a few million dollars.I'd rather have a cheaper real painting or one that actually looks good reproduced than a terrible van gogh print.
If you look at a monet painting you just know you are never going to see anything that looks like that again unless you go to that museum again. Impressionism just doesn't look good in print because there's too much texture.
Cannot think of a name
