Absolutely brilliant post, good sir, and agreed to the hilt!

Damn! Another good role for Scheider. Thanks for reminding me. Cheesy dialogue, but in a way it almost had to be a cheesy film to make up for the sheer, impenetrable art-piece that was 2010's predecessor.

My favorite part of that movie was when they were planning to use the Discovery as a booster. Floyd is talking with that Russian chick, and to illustrate his point, he puts two pens up in the air, and there they hang, weightless. I had forgotten it was set in space at that point, and it was a nice visual reminder of that. The way they used weightlessness as a tool so effortlessly really sold the "space" aspect of it to me.

A matter of weeks. Every good actor is dieing and no new good ones are coming, all we will have is a bunch of drug junkies, rehab patients, and YouTubers.

The outtakes were funny from that. :)

Also ... curious and depressing that Shark Week started the same day on DISC. Or if it weren't, an even weirder and more depressing coincidence.

I had it on DVD, but I suck at retaining media. The only reason I still have CDs is because I started with @3500.

It used to be Buyer at a record store. So I got a ton of CDs from that. (Label reps gave me CDs all the time, so it's not like I have/had 3500 hand picked CDs. That makes a big difference)

And now that I think about it, I didn't have Naked Lunch on DVD, I had it on Laserdisc.

Looks like I have some movie replacin' to do...

Looks like I have some movie replacin' to do...Would that be the first or the last movie you'd have in a Roy Scheider movie marathon night?

You can't watch another movie after that, so it has to be last.

I'd start with All That Jazz, followed by 2010 then pick things up with The French Connection and The 7-Ups before moving on to Blue Thunder, Jaws, and wrapping up with Naked Lunch.
