Someday I intend to have it legally changed to "Honesty". Then I can truthfully say, "Honesty is my middle name!"

I was goven no middle name, which is good because most people's middle names tend to be worse than their first name. However, I would like an initial between my names as it adds a certain dignity to a name.

I think it would be cool to have your middle name be "the." Then you could sign checks John the Smith, Joe the Wheeler, George the Bush, or whatever your first and last names were. Some names would work better than others (Prof. Alfred the Butts is a negative example.)

My middle name is Joan, after my mother's middle name and her mother's middle name; it may be my maternal great-grandmother's middle name, too, but I honestly don't know that for sure.

You didn't happen to lead the French out of cruel dictatorship of the English in medieval times did you?

No, unfortunately. However, I am descended from Leif Erickson and Erik the Red. And it's apparent -- I would name it Greenland and sail away laughing.
