Given that Ron Paul's primary support base is from libertarians, who necessarily occupy an extreme position on the ideological scale: Extremist or non-mainstream views tend to attract greater numbers of loonies than do more mainstream or centrist views. (I've never heard of any centrist terrorists, have you?) Hence, more of Ron Paul's supporters are bound to be loonies anyway. The fact that his actions in practice have discouraged many of the more sane libertarians leaves only the loonies.

McCain was an honorable aviator for the United States, and refused to be repatriated out of turn, which cost him another 5 years as a POW. I have great respect for him as a sailor. The hell he went through for answering the call of his country to fight an unpopular war to end up being mistreated in a pow camp. I do not find it particularly funny calling him a Manchurian candidate considering the torture he went through.

While i respect his sacrifice, i don't respect him as a politician. he is a neocon and a corrupt one. A vote for McCain is a vote for another Nixon. I refuse to vote for him for these reasons:

McCain-Feingold Act
he is a warmonger who supports hitler's doctrine of preemptive war
he supports a police state that authorizes the abuse of people's liberties under the pretense of national security and supports patriot act and other governmental abuses of power.

he is conservative on most issues except the ones that truly define conservatism--limited government that insures that a person's civil liberties are protected in accordance with the rule of Law and due process.
