Yeesh, you'd think people would figure out they've been playing the same song for years now. -_-*

Well, they do write about having sex in a quite varied ways...

The same few songs. They do it very well though. Some people don't even get one decent tune out and never seem to either shut up or fuck off, U2 being a case in point. When Flea starts popping up around the place beside world leaders talking bland shite like some whitebread messiah, I'll join your club. Till then, let the funk roll on.

Well, given that most of the music on the radio is of lesser quality than RHCP and there's no sign of this changing, it will probably go on until Anthony Kiedis or Flea dies.

Well, they certainly add something good to cooking, so I'm not inclined to do away with them yet.

Or until peoples' taste improves. ;)

Or until peoples' taste improves. ;)Yes, but that isn't likely to happen. As the millennium is progressing it seems to be getting worse.

The tragic death of a music HERO. Death always makes it worse.

Death. Always. Makes. It. Worse.

They'll get the rest of the band and play old tape of Kiedis on the big screens and charge $200 to get in rather than the super reasonable $100 they probably charge now.

And to think, you can go see acts such as Jello Biafra-endorsed genius Ted Leo for about $8 in venues where the back of the place could fit between a RHCP stage and their crowd barrier, where you can get served cold beer at reasonable prices and talk to the band afterwards.

I'm actually glad people have shit taste.

You do have a point, though.

Theres plenty of bands worse than the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

I liked their cover of Stevie Wonder's Higher Ground, but I'm not too fussed for their own music. Still, they don't inspire any ill will in me.

An entire thread because someone doesnt like a band. I hate slipknot, i hate most rap/hiphop music, i really really despise shiny manufactured pop music, mainly because i don't understand what people enjoy in it.
That is my failing, not theirs. They are happy and are not forcing you to listen to it. If it comes onto the radio when you are listening, change channel, if it comes on MTV when you are watching, get a job.
The fact is that the Red Hot Chilli Peppers have sold prillions of albums because a large number of people enjoy listening to them.
They are not bad people, you might say misguided and you would rather they listen to the Manic Street Preachers, Arcade Fire, Oasis, Pink Floyd or whatever you prefer, fine.
Im not a huge Red Hot Chilli Peppers fan, infact I find a heap of their music boring, but Flea is one of the best bassists I have ever heard.
