Africa, Asia, South America send Christian missionaries to the UK
I must say, I find this irresistably amusing. :D
There is, in fact, some evidence of increased Christian missionary efforts on European soil. The largest Christian church in Europe is a Protestant megachurch in Ukraine, and it is led by a Nigerian who arrived in Kiev in the early 1990s as a student. In London, some of the most vibrant Christian gatherings are composed largely of African-descent Christians from the Caribbean. There are missionaries to the UK from Africa. It is one of the rich ironies of our time that the descendants of African converts evangelized by English missionaries in the nineteenth century are, in the twenty-first century, attempting to reintroduce Christianity to Europe, the world’s new “Dark Continent,” at least from the perspective of receptivity to the Christian message.

Park is just one of a growing number of missionaries in Europe from countries — such as Brazil, Uganda and South Africa — that were once targeted by European missionaries.
[...] Together they and other congregations have linked with evangelical organizations in Brazil and Korea, and are preparing to bring dozens more missionaries to the U.K.

Lolz. That's hilarious. I thought I'd hear something about this sooner or later, given Europe's lack of religiousity and the missionary fervor in the rest of the world.
I say we should grab our spears and drive these damned christians back to where they came from.

*Sigh* Why only drive 'em back? Why are so few as enthusiastic as me concerning genocide in the name of religion. Getting rid of religion that is...

Because as much as we may like or dislike them, that would only prove their point that Atheists are immoral...

I'm not an atheist, Thor told me to protect my lands from the Christians.

If only they could have used robust immigration policies, then perhaps we wouldn't be in this mess :(

Hell, I'm surprised that there aren't a ton of American missionaries in Britain. Not just to bring back Christianity in general, but to convert the Europeans to evangelicalism.
Billy Graham came over here a few times, a while ago...

Unfortunately there are some. I think that anybody, when asked by customs officers what the purpose of their visit it is, who says "missionary work" should be turned away. My personal message to all missionaries of all faiths all around the world would be "fuck off back to where you came from and keep you stupid ideas to yourself".
I've heard about this before. As in, several years ago.
This is interesting, but really doesn't affect me, as I am a North American Jew. There's no need to send missionaries to the United States, believe me.

Good for them. I love meeting guys like that - they always have interesting personal stories. I mean, I'm not interested in joining their club, but it's great that they get the chance to come over for a bit, even if they have to do so under religious pretenses (which I'm very happy to talk to them at length about).

I'll only answer the door if they actually have Jesus with them.
Yay! I am proud of them for actually standing up for what Christ told us to do as present active participle believers. Interestingly enough, I think that the "third" world is sending more missionaries than what the US does. So that shows me that the church is still alive and kicking. -thumbs up-

I think thats hilarious :) But since Europe is the last place to experience revival, i'm not really suprised.
And, how come you guys are so hostile to christian missionaries? Bad experience? Maybe I should start a thread where you guys can vent...cause it confuses me so much!:)
I haven't seen so much irony in such a long time. Missionaries introducing Christianity to what was once part of the continent-sized Christianity capital of the world? That would be like reintroducing "marrying-your-relatives"ism to America's "South". That would be like introducing poligamy to Mormans. That would be like introducing stupid to Scientology. So much irony.

Shut up about the South. People don't marry relatives. Mormans' aren't polygmists anymore. But, Scientology is stupid.

Well, we need someone to stand up for Christians in England/Britain. The Archbishop of Canterbury is starting to support sharia law in Britain!
